Documentary Film on Life as a Town Fan? 16:14 - Nov 29 with 1319 viewsCheltenham_Blue

All.

I'm just about to start pre-production on a potential film series of documentary films about life as football fan in the UK today. For obvious reasons I'm going to start with Town, but I'm generally going to focus on sides that have a successful history, but that success is now very historical.

The main narrative of the film is what is it like to be a fan of those sides, fans that saw the glory years and now are watching more difficult times and those who were born after the glory years passed and so have never seen 'real' success.

It will involve on camera interviews and possibly just hanging out with you for a day. I'll be looking to get clubs involved too, but thats obviously up to them. If you are interested in taking part in someway, please let me know.

No guarantees that this will happen or when, but the aim is to start shooting before the end of this season, thats what pre-production tries to find out.

Best.

CB.

Have you considered Notts County?
They are the 'poster club' for the fall from grace.
Then again, you want to interview fans so you might struggle to find a Notts County fan nowadays

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

....old bedsheet Rich written all over it.

He'll be desperate to get involved once he hears about it.

He'll want to write it, direct it, star in it and sing the theme tune, you watch.

Good luck though!!

But Shipman lived a long life in Stockport (unlike some of his patients).
Another of those Glory chasers who support a club miles from where they live just because they're more successful than the local team.

It has got to be Lucan, hasn't it? He's got some belting stories.

And if you could get the Swallow's/Dozzell's involved then you also have whole extra dimensions both discussing the racist side of 70s football culture, and the "Ipswich lives in racial harmony" response, and with the "Our boy playing for our Club" (and then his son).

Looking forward to watching it!

.....down the boozer reckons she can contact anyone.

But she's hammered most of the time so I wouldn't bank on it.

The film title has to be 'Be Careful What You Wish For'.....

Commision payable on completion.

In all seriousness, all the best with it, great subject to document.

Just spend a couple of games in the Cobbold stand, the majority have seen it all!
