2pts dropped 21:53 - Dec 2 with 2370 views | Mullet | From the most bizarre/flukiest/odd goal you'll see for ages to a clear penalty shout in the dying the seconds, with not much in between, doesn't really matter. We seem to get a goal up and not muster that killer instinct of late don't we? As bad as we were at times, you can't expect to see out games from so early on and expect to win games when teams are given the chance to come at you time and again. Davis' stop on the line was the warning and we didn't heed it. When refs aren't giving you anything or in control, you have to be and it seems to be our fatal flaw. McKenna is still a rookie manager and that perhaps get lost in all the positives but if he's got an area to focus on it's ensuring we stick to the gameplan. Thought it was clear he's coached set pieces at either end today but that high line and intensity seemed to be abandoned and that let them in. Gutted with that in the immediate aftermath. Still think Plymouth losing shows that we can overtake them but allowing others like Wednesday in is risky business.

Only Ipswich can have the chance to go top and end up going third
2pts dropped on 22:03 - Dec 2 with 2194 views | cbower | Think we are simply not clinical enough. They should have been dead and buried. However, at 1-0 they were always in it and we increasingly surrendered territory in the last 15. Think the injuries are showing a bit especially in our ability to bring control to the game in the last 20. Aluko, TJJ and Evans are big misses in this respect. This game, Charlton and Wednesday are real sickeners but we seem to almost invite nervousness at times.

Yep. I thought Lynch was the best player on the pitch and made some great saves especially from Chaplin in the second half, but Humphreys should have buried his chance and beyond that, what did we really put on them? Thought there were lots of decent crosses and interplay but nothing coherent to make them count time and again.

The 'lots of decent crosses' is really telling though. Not enough players in blue getting on the end of them. I like Ladapo, like his work rate, he can hold it up well enough too. Nevertheless, despite his 9 goals ( and he has not started a fair few games too), there is still a nagging feeling that a more clinical striker would be getting on the end of more of said decent crosses.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty certain that Ahadme isn't going to be the answer either. With JJ out for a while, a quality CF is an essential requirement for January.

Said elsewhere I think TJJ is a big miss both as an 1 in 3 starter and a final 25-30 minute finisher.

Ahadme is a dreadful signing so far from what we've seen. Signed him just because he scared Woolfenden and Edmundson - which, as a unit, is hardly difficult. Felt like a panic signing at the time and has not proved differently. The moment Ladapo went off we held nothing up top. [Post edited 2 Dec 2022 22:43]

You were complaining the other week about people unfairly labeling you as negative then you come out with this OTT nonsense!

Was I? I know I'm overly negative, I accept I am - especially after a poor result/performance! Saying that - fair point, dreadful is harsh, but he has lacked impact to date and we lost any semblance of holding the ball up top after he had replaced Ladapo.

He was signed as a work in progress, We wanted Hirst or another with Ladapo first choice. I would hope we pick up a striker, midfielder or 2 in the window, as we looked short yesterday when we needed changes.
