The real sickner here is not so much Tories who profited through providing shoddy PPE, but that health workers were left facing a shortage. Some of whom died because of that shortage.
In 2010 the NHS was fully stocked with PPE having been made aware of the risk of a pandemic via the SARS outbreak. The then Tory government did what ALL Tory governments due, cut the funding.
After the Cygnus exercise 2018 (testing the NHS's readiness for such an outbreak it was found that supplies of PPE were woefully short) and recommended that they be upgraded to what was needed.

My sister is a nurse and her colleague died from covid after they were ordered to only wear PPE while treating confirmed cases.

So Gove has now been dragged into this skulduggery
From his previous claim that he advised this latter day Imelda and Ferdinand Marcus to the correct channel, it now appears he didn't. He directed them to the 'back door' ie the VIP channel.
This has all the appearance of a feeding frenzy.
The Tory government had left the NHS woefully short of PPE, and related equipment, and so it became 'fill yer boots' for a privileged few (see Hancock pub landlord)
More pertinent is this paragraph
"The Guardian was only able to establish that private emails had been used because of an apparent administrative error by the Cabinet Office, which failed to properly redact documents released after a freedom of information request from the Guardian."
So freedom of information requests are only what the government chooses to release
It raises the question of why government ministers are using private emails for government business. Something that has been shown to be standard practice within certain government circles. Which suggests conversations they don't want made public, especially those where government money is involved.
And are we to assume that those receiving this largess did not have some obligation to those who facilitated these deals ?
We can jail those involved and reclaim the money where possible. Family and friends can never get back those who died, through this gross incompetence and mismanagement.

With Gove's fingers also caught in the till, as revealed (Weds). The reporting in the link below leaves no doubt as to their guilt, or Goves involvement either. Hancock might care to stay 'in the jungle' as investigations are now ongoing.
