I feel sorry for the kid who sang 'Walking in the Air' as he'll always be eclipsed by Aled Jones in the public knowledge base, even though 99% of the time we hear it, it's the film version, so not Aled

If you get chance, listen to Briggs’ appearance on Desert Island Discs. He was fantastic. Grumpy and smart and fascinating and emotional.

It was Aled Jones' version that was recorded for the Toys R Us advert and released as a single, so is the version most people hear around this time, but that's not the version that was recorded for and used in the film.

It was Peter Auty. I only know this 'cos it was a quiz question in a Christmas Quiz we did a few years ago. Everyone said Aled Jones as well.

And also enjoy the story of Ethel & Ernest (the book, film - or both) - the biography of Raymond Briggs' parents

Don’t give up the day job Keno. Unless the day job is attempting gags on TWTD, in which case definitely give it up!

Peter Auty had quite a successful career as an opera and classical concert singer, so not all bad.
