Most consultant cardiologists(other specialists who will tell you this are also available) will also tell you that Covid itself carries a far higher risk of most of those (mostly extremely rare)side effects, too.

I was reading an article the other day where a virologist stated that Omicron is approximately as virulent as the original Wuhan strain and thus if you've not been exposed previously or not been vaccinated it's still highly dangerous.

There was, unfortunately, a group of relatively well respected Historians who were partially legitimised in their Holocaust denial for a number of years (including David Irving, but plenty of others with less radical/abhorrent views).

One question that arises in relation to this issue is how is it possible to prevent the belief in and spread of conspiracy theories, which to any sane (in my view) person are bonkers.
During lockdown I had cause to speak to my neighbour, and she came out with all sort of nonsense on all sorts of issues including Covid which suggested to me that she had tapped into US social media and was being bombarded by the conspiracy theories circulating there.
Such people do not seem amenable to reason, and restrictions on free speech are to my mind problematic, so perhaps the best way of trying to make things slightly better would be to outlaw the social media algorithms which mean that people have thrust in their face things they might not otherwise find, just because they have looked at a particular matter. The result is an echo chamber which merely reinforce a particular view or theory. [Post edited 11 Jan 2023 13:42]

And this is the point. Having such extreme views within itself isn't so much of the issue - more that there are now so many platforms for them to air their views is. Couple that with the fact that it seems many are no in a position of 'power' is even more worrying.
