Yes, mostly reviewed by people who never played the game, or understand the mechanics of the game, so aren't bothered by plot changes or new characters, I dont want to spoil it but they have changed a fairly crucial aspect of the game story.
So whether you like it or not may well depend on whether you'd prefer a faithful adaption of the game story, or a drama series featuring some characters you might recognise from the game.
If you like it fine, just don't get your hopes up if you were just expecting the Last of Us game to be brought to life as a TV show, because its not that. |  | | |

Really good 1st episode, enjoyed that, not been looking forward to a tv series for a long time.
Captured the mood of the game, not 100% sold on Elle's performance or the way they've portrayed her so far, but it's been a while since i played the game,so maybe she was harder around the edges in the early part of the game. My son said same. I dont have a PS and I dont play on PC. I have an Xbox. Wish I'd have gone for PS5 instead of Series X now. I think they have better exclusive games. | |

you might be able to find a PS3/4 if you don't want to outlay the cost of a PS5 which is understandable or ask to borrow someones if you can.
It's so worth it the story is probably better than the gameplay and the gameplay is pretty good.

Going to own up here, I've never played The Last Of Us.
I've played all the Uncharted games but never really enjoyed them compared to Tomb Raider games as they are far to linear, always one path in each section from start to the finish, no real exploration., no going back to previous sections to collect all treasures etc. In the end got bored of these types of games and expected better of Naughty Dog.
That kind of put me off playing any more Naughty Dog games, however I started playing The Last Of Us last week and sadly to say I'm already bored of it, again an overload of cut scenes and a thoroughly linear progression through the game. I don't get the hype around these games.
I used to love it when Naughty Dog stuck to Jak & Daxter. |  |

Always difficult to decide whether to watch it now or wait for all episodes. I prefer binge watching but there always seems to be some cock who spoils it if you wait. Even news sites love a bit of clickbait now.
Sky news sent a news alert at about 8am on the day of the Battle of Winterfell GOT episode where it had aired at 2am in America. Just needless and irritating, especially in a country where it has not had the main showing yet. | |
