Morsy and Luongo 21:48 - Mar 11 with 1863 viewshomer_123

I really like Evans and Ball. I also think Humphreys is going to have an excellent career.

However, that middle pairing is working so well. They compliment each other. They can both cover the ground needed, can both be aggressive and ein the ball back but crucially they can both start or get involved in attacks.

I'm delighted Ball is back and available but Luongo, for me, is that little missing jigsaw piece and is proving possibly KMs most astute signing.

Re-assuring to have Ball on the bench, especially when Luongo picked up his yellow. Didn't transpire that we needed him but think he'll have his moment.

Think Evans’ time here is coming to a close. Luongo is a far superior player to him imo and Evans looks nice on the ball at times, he was way off it when he came back from injury and I’m not sure he’s effective against the better teams in this league, let alone the championship if we are lucky enough to get there.

His injury record is also terrible. Only played more than 30 league games once in his career.

He's actually managed more than 30 league games twice but still. We can't have players that at a minimum miss 16 league games every season.

Luongo has added some extra quality and resilience, which has massively contributed to us being far harder to beat

The new signings are gradually starting to bed in and now seem to be settling into their roles, are we timing this run in nicely?

Still too early to tell I'd suggest, we need to get through Barnsley and Derby unscathed, you can probably throw Shrewsbury and Wycombe into that as well?

100%

Doubt he'll sign if we're still in league one next year. I assume he left sheff weds because they didn't go up last summer.

It’s early days in the Morsy Luongo axis. Luongo has had his share of time out of seasons too. Let’s not reimagine only the recent past. Our early season form was built on Evo and his improved game from last season. He had consistently high ratings and good number for ball wins high up the pitch. However I’m in agreement we don’t progress with midfield that manages a few games then gets injured. Whatever league next season the midfield is an area of importance with several players in their often missing a lot of football.
