We are both at the level we are at. The games still need winning. If we can win enough of ours, between them Wednesday, Barnsley and Plymouth will all drop points. We just need to do enough to take advantage of them. Keeping our winning run going much longer would go a long way. |  |

We probably should have beaten Wednesday at Hillsborough but lost to them at Portman Road
I know people felt they weren't good at Portman Road but they've clearly got a system which works at this level, very effectively

I’m surprised more teams haven’t tried to press Wednesday this year. Their centre-backs are mostly kick it and lump it types who aren’t comfortable with the ball, at least now McGuiness has gone back.
They don’t have loads of pace going forward (Windass aside) so they’re not an amazing counter attacking team either. Most of their strength is in being able to control the midfield. |  |

Out second half tally was exceptional and they were on the ropes
I suppose given that they hit the bar when 2-0 up then you’re right they edged it
But we really did batter them for 40mins second half
I did like how we defenced in the final 5 mins… could have easily have caved in to their late pressure | |

Apart from a mad 20 minutes after we missed a penalty, we absolutely battered them.

I think if they control teams and pin them back, they're very physical and hard to stop from crosses
They're physical, organised and very good at what they do but as a pure footballing side, I'd put us above them
Barnsley remind me a bit of us under Royle, their front two are lively and tricky to deal with but their midfield doesn't look hugely in this game at the moment, their strength looks like it's through their wings? [Post edited 21 Mar 2023 20:48]

Yeah the physicality is a big part of Wednesday’s game, at both ends of the pitch. Gregory and Smith look like scoring every time a cross comes in.
Interesting to see Bannan dropping back into defence at points in the first half to start attacks from deep. | |
