Pen was soft but overall he was the standard League 1 ref that seemed to just be guessing. First half he gave them everything, second half he was just blowing his whistle randomly and waving the odd card. Things seem to have evened themselves out.
He was a sh1te ref though tbf. For both teams. In our favour, it was a very soft penalty, and VAR may have sent Morsey off for what could (not sure) just could have been construed as a stamp after he was fouled on one of his rampages.

This team has been f&£#ing brilliant over the past few months. They’ve left nothing to chance. To play Bolton, Derby, Peterborough and Barnsley away, win all four, 10 goals none conceded. Remarkable.

Agree with all that. Ref seem to say Walton was giving their fans some stick but didn't see it. Otherwise totally mad yellow card.

Think the pen looked soft in real time but when you see the replay he was definitely brought down by i think no.30 ? Definitely would have been given if VAR was consulted. All in all though, you're right, he was a standard lg1 ref and really that standard is so poor. We used to moan about Championship refs all the time but they seem to be significantly worse in this division. Lets see if we notice a marked improvement next season! | | | |
