We've had one or two academy kids poached from us by teams higher up the league structure over the last few years, but have any of them actually gone on to better things?
Ben Knight seems to have disappeared, not sure if he is still at Man City.
Charlie Brown is at Cheltenham and is not a regular so far as I can tell.
Harry Clarke, beautiful Harry Clarke, is right back with us, and to be fair he has played at bit at championship level.
I suppose Liam Gibbs could argue that having played regularly in the championship he has moved up a notch, but it's only at 'them', so that doesn't hold water.
Any other academy departees who have gone on to do something?

Completely forgotten his name but the Mexican lad who went to Arsenal is doing well for himself and is very highly regarded there. Think he’s currently on loan in the Spanish second division.
Edit. Think Ben Knight is still at City but I think had a bad injury- wonder wherever he’ll find himself back here. [Post edited 4 May 2023 14:52]

Completely forgotten his name but the Mexican lad who went to Arsenal is doing well for himself and is very highly regarded there. Think he’s currently on loan in the Spanish second division.

6 starts, 7 sub appearances, 0 goals, 1 assist, for Real Oviedo, currently 9th in La Liga 2. Only one appearance post Christmas, despite being fit.
I imagine everyone involved was hoping for a bit more than that, given he already has a full international cap for Mexico (possibly to ward off interest from other countries he's eligible for).
As it stands we're yet to be really stung by a bigger club taking our player via EPPP (although we'd have saved money developing Clarke ourselves I suppose...) |  |

I remember Knight playing in the community shield a couple of years ago, think that may be his only appearance for the first team. I believe he is contracted until 2025.
Gibbs has just won young player of the year. They seem quite taken with him, although this has been one of their worst seasons in a while so isn't saying much. I look forward to Morsy and Luongo welcoming him back to Portman Road. | |

He's the one that moving has really worked out for. Would he now by our starting RB at just turned 22 had he stayed? Probably not. | | | |
