"Among their demands are a 100km/h speed limit on German autobahns as well as a permanent offer of a €9 a month ticket to use public transport." .....clearly mentalists.

The one small bit of hope that I cling on to is that more and more people seem to be waking up to the idea that government's and most of the media serve the interests of big business and the wealthy, and that those interests are antithetical to the best interests of the planet and most of the people who inhabit it. For most of my lifetime the majority of people seem to have not been able to recognise this, but it's become increasingly more brazen and information is more readily available. It feels like we're coming to a tipping point where we're either going to go down a fascistic hell hole in order to preserve the economic elite or we might actually see a shift towards more genuinely progressive politics. My worry is that the former is more likely given the control that the elites have over resources and the media, but you never know. The speech from that de Santis fella yesterday was quite frightening, he's taking the 'war on woke' to the next level.

100 kph is like 62 mph. Guess the Nurburgring days are numbered...

I haven't heard that speech yet, but the next US government is really worrying. A shame that Biden is running again. Can anyone run against him as a Democrat? I don't know the system, but Biden is looking really frail.

I believe you can't run against a sitting president, Biden would have to step aside. de Santis was talking about getting the woke out of schools, the woke out of here, there and everywhere, and then said something along the lines of Florida being where the woke go to die. I know people hate the comparison, but with some tweaks to the target 'enemy', it wouldn't have looked out of place in 1930s Germany.

It is. That's the only thing that could be perceived as genuinely criminal. Although 'sabotage' in this instance could equally just mean a sit-in.

Yes, hence I don't have a strong view on it at this point.

Refusing to offer a strong view because of a lack of information? Think you're on the wrong forum, pal.

Another snippet: "Soon after the governor told Mr Musk he would study the US Constitution to "see what buttons can I push" to invoke executive authority" Openly touting the idea of turning the US into a one man dictatorship. Very Trumpian. It's astonishing how many people lap this up, but when you whip them up into being terrified that a shadowy enemy is going to destroy their values and take everything from them, some people will invariably buy the snake oil and gleefully cheerlead for authoritarianism.
