Thinking of showing the rugby in our stretch tent at the pub. Ideally attaching a projector to the central pole (8cm diameter.) Any thoughts on best way to do this? Looked for accessories but only seem to go up to 5cm pole.

You didn't really think that through very well did you? Expecting people on here having experience with up to an 8cm pole?

Could you attach a bracket to make a small shelf for the projector?

Online...

But possibly from a local hardware shop/screwfix maybe?

Although, actually, that doesn't look as it would hold the kind of size shelf the projector would need, depending on what type of projector it is?

You will need a substantial bracket as there is a good weight in a projected especially when it is on a shelf ( law of the lever ).

8cm = 3.15", so this is the size of the clamp required. Try a TV installer and get something like this.

I picked the 3.5" but you may be able to squeeze the 3" version. Drill a bit of angle and create this type of thing.

Cut two more pieces of angle and bolt them at right angles to the angle already made.

Voila cheap and sturdy home made projector mount.

p.s. if you can or know some one who can weld, the angle can be welded.

Bear in mind that a central pole is subject to lots of vibrations in that sort of structure, magnified when projected onto a screen.
