They’ve no interest in doing that as they need to use them for political capital, and also hope that imposing as much misery on them as possible will act as a deterrent (when there’s ample evidence to show it doesn’t). There’s the added bonus of providing juicy contracts to companies they’ve got vested interests in.
So it’s typical modern day Tory policy really; inefficient, ineffectual and profiteering off the misery of others.

I've stayed in the Ipswich Novotel several times, and never had an issue. Rooms are decent size and comfortable, aircon works, bar's open late. Not expensive, booking in advance either. Having it back will reduce demand at other hotels, and quite likely ease prices all round. | | | |

Because it was a popular hotel in the heart of a dying town centre. Multiple people were made redundant and I would assume the local businesses along St Nicholas Street have had a drop in business.
I know many people who stay there frequently for work and also for football. Family members got married there too, so is it really racist to want a hotel to return to its normal function? | | | |

Think part of the reason Novotel did it was to enable funds for a refurb. Was in the press release at the time they’re going to do it and add more rooms. Will need it. | |
