Those that aren't must have 'very real concerns'?

That's really not good given the huge success of the HPV vaccine.

There are also huge issues across the UK, EU and US with regards to measles:

Rise in measles cases coupled with a downturn in MMR vaccinations by StokieBlue 24 Jan 2024 11:48
Unfortunately measles is seeing huge increase across the EU and UK, in 2017 the UK was declared measles free as it had seen no indigenous cases for 3 years. Now we have rising cases amongst the young across the country and the EU has reported 30,000 cases in 10 months last year up from just 900 the previous year.

In order to keep measles at bay through herd-immunity 95% of children need to be vaccinated and we are now just below 85% in the UK. There are a few reasons, low doctors surgery attendance and thus vaccinations during the pandemic, lingering doubts around MMR (even though they have been discredited) and kids being outside the age range when it's usually given.

Measles is a nasty virus and much more contagious than even the Omicron variants of covid (r0 of between 12 and 18) so it will spread quickly through those with no immunity.

The general message is it's not too late to get the MMR, even if kids are outside the usual ages when it's given that's not a problem.

I saw a video of a doctor (I assume genuine) on FB yesterday imploring all his colleagues to start 'telling the truth' about the covid vaccine. It was amazing how many conditions he attributed to the vaccine - the 'proof' no doubt being that the patients were fully vaccinated and therefore it must be the cause. Sadly, the woman who posted the video felt fully vindicated in not having been 'jabbed'.
It's the first time I've bothered to watch this sort of rubbish. Truly mind-boggling stuff!

"Correlation does not imply causation".

That is one of the hardest concepts to get across to many people and it's made even more difficult by people like that posting videos.

Course it does. Look at all the vaccinated people in close proximity to our players in the first half at Preston, and look how we played. Coincidence? I think not!

(Agreed)

God I hate social media experts.

My current 'favourite' is that one that goes "'LOL the Romans built roads to last, engineers with degrees can't do that nowadays' one that's designed to appeal to the sneering 'LOL, who needs experts' mentality that gives us Trumps, Johnsons and Brexit with our ever stopping to think that :

1. Roman Engineers were highly trained in a number of disciplines including maths, geometry and art. As well as more apparently esoteric things like music, medicine(for awareness of environment) and philosophy.
2. Roman engineers didn't have build roads to take hundreds of 30 ton+ artics thundering over them.
3. Roman roads also degraded over time. Cartwheels, hooves, chariots and even boots/feet will cause wear.

No, it's ice cream and cancer, not sharks. If you are going spurious, do it properly!
