So salty...

Wow. That was actually said?

I didn't even read through it. I was just curious if it was still on the first page, and lo and behold it was. I had a peek at the 95th page and it was mainly tweet links of the 'McKenna staying' stuff.

Remarkable really. Plenty of hatred, but in recent months some sanity too. Lots of it in fact. Landsdown gets a fair amount of grief now.

One of the swivel eyed haters in hoping for Leeds to go back up said:

‘Leeds are a 'super' club, well at least a pretty big club. Small provincial town Ipswich 16k fans in midtable Champ, just think they are’

He clearly wanted to doff his cap to the natural order Premier League entitled like Leeds.

One of the main generators of the 95 pages, Fevs, and the main one who ‘educated us’ so persistently on the devil Ashton three years ago has eased off quite a lot. Should we struggle next year I’ve no doubt the thread will bloom again.

Oh well, never mind, eh 😃

One day people will realise that our support is more of a collection of counties rather than just a town and significant international support. It really isn't that hard to grasp... is it?

Who cares what they think. They're practically a small nothing club that makes nodge look like Real Madrid

Plus for a city like Bristol you'd think they will have a better footballing pedigree

Based on his logic he’ll never see his club in the premier league while he’s got a hole in his ar5e.

That Fevs bloke is also weird - acts like a messiah on the Brizzer forums and then comes here carrying himself in a similar way. Fair play to him if he does have that degree of notoriety on his home turf but coming on here to shat on Ashton reminds me of a scene in Die Hard with a vengeance where Bruise Willis is wearing a sign that degrades the main demographic of the area he's in.

He honestly said something along the lines of ‘as you know, I’m a pretty big contributor on the Bristol City forum’ once. Bloke thinks he’s got global brand awareness the way he was going on. Hilarious and cringeworthy in equal measure.

Die Hard 3. Jeremy Irons plays the bad guy and Samuel L Jackson (who ignored me in a lift once) the guy who saves him when he is wearing that sandwich board in Harlem or somewhere.

Yes, that DaveFevs bloke is decidedly odd. Sort of the board guru.

By the time we finally see through Ashton we are going to really regret where he has taken us as a club! If only we could be enjoying the progress brizzle have made since he left.

He also tried to tell us that Leif Davis wouldn't be as effective in the Championship.

The only thing I have found strange is how much Mark Ashton puts himself in the front of things. Sure I know he is our CEO and I am truly grateful to have him onboard but I can't think of many other CEOs who are so public. Normally they are behind the scenes allowing the team and the manager to get the plaudits.

There was a lot less of it last season. And less from the owners too. I like to hear from him every so often about big stuff - infrastructure, planning, building, Board, Investment, future etc, but anything to do with the team is the Manager’s jurisdiction.

There’s a balance to be had, especially in this media heavy day and age.

I think it is good. Most of the time when you see Ashton it is something of interest or relevance. I would take seeing him any day over one of Evans' stooges peddling lines of bullsht to keep the pitchforks at bay.

Might be a bit of a modern football thing I suppose. It's kind of a new role in the game isn't it? Back in the day, you'd only really know who the players and manager was and you'd probably see a message from Patrick Cobbold or John Kerrr in the match day programme once a year.

Don’t think you can knock it tbh, some fans of other clubs could only dream about that sort of think when it comes to communication and closeness to the fans, definitely makes me feel more connected to the club anyway.

I think it is interesting to see us and our club through others eyes. I enjoyed scrolling through some of it's 95 pages. I learnt a lot about Mr. Ashton. Not all to his credit.
On all forums there are a few weirdos and wind up merchants. However on this there were many sensible comments.
