Wow, what a terrible terrible performance that was, no one seemed up for it on 18:54 - Jun 20 by Illinoisblue
That final 10 seconds summed it up; need to get the ball in the box, instead we hesitate and pass it back. Fk off
The polar opposite of what we watched last season, how do these players who have been so good for their clubs turn in such a performance, seriously even if set up negatively surely there is enough nous in there to say feck this let's be positive

‘No easy games in tournament football’ ‘First position in the group is still in our hands’ ‘Important to build continuity’ ‘No easy teams’
Anything else for Southgate Bingo?

Hahahahaha
Walker: - it’s tournament football - we’ve not lost - we’re top of the group - well deserved point - it’s not easy in tournaments - have to manage the game - we’re top of the group (again)
This comes from Southgate, make no mistake. Negative mentality. It may well work, but by god it’s crap to watch.

No doubt in my mind players were following instructions this is all down to Southgate and his support
It isn’t just Southgate look at the quality of his support team. An assistant manager who has been in the job 8 years, never managed in his own right and, if stories are to be believed, has an abrasive manner.
Then we have Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank, left his previous job as Manager of Burton Albion when they were bottom of League one.
Peter Nevin whose CV includes coaching at Norwich. Lastly a goalkeeper coach first appointed by Sam Allardyce.
In truth we set out to protect a back four , three of which are in their 30’s. Disgraceful approach when we have younger alternatives in the squad and a strong attack minded group of forward players who have been given very little freedom to play.
We didn’t have a corner until Watkins replaced Kane and forced two corners, the first in the 72nd minute.
Kane is now defending the team much as Walker did so guess he also starts in next game.
Hell of an admission from Kane there. “We’re not sure who’s putting the pressure on” (with regards to pressing).
That’s an awful dereliction of duty from the manager/coaches. With all the resources at their disposal, why are we sending teams out that don’t know what they’re doing? It’s no surprise based on what we’ve seen, but to admit it is very honest.
I don’t know why some expect anything different. We always have been very average to watch, never inspiring and get found out every time we play someone half decent. Imagine us against France or Germany like that, we’d be lucky not to get ripped a new one. The 0-1 to Iceland was the sign of how we were going to perform.

Not a great performance, but I'm not concerned about performance, I would be happy if they did a Greece and bored their way to winning it. Nobody ever cares about the performance of the winners. I've never understood some England fans obsession with playing the opposition off the pitch in every game in a tournament. As Matteo the Itialian in my local always tells me, it's that obsession why England never win tournaments

That’s probably correct. I’m sure most people (hardcore fans and the general population alike) wouldn’t bother too much as long as we won. MBEs incoming and all that.
But as a spectator and a football fan first and England fan second, I find it tedious. It’s not good entertainment and it’s not good football. The winning (if it comes to that, but don’t hold your breath) is secondary for me. I enjoyed watching Albania more yesterday.
