What about Oliver Skipp as a potential target? 21:09 - Jul 22 with 3821 viewsArnieM

23yrs old, defensive or attacking midfielder at Spurs? Right age group. Not sure if he’s in Spurs plans.

Spurs want to keep him due to a british quota, they will only release him if they can sign someone else british, they've been linked with mctominay at 30 mil

Was told he's on silly money. Think he may be available for loan but Tottenham would have to be willing to pay a lot of his wages.

Well I wouldn't underestimate the negotiating process of Ashton or Mckrnnas previous links with Spurs ... none of us would have dreamt if getting Omari on loan, let alone eventually signing him.... I live in hope as they say

No, I don't think so. Someone else was talking about him but I don't think with any knowledge that Kieran wants him.

Personally very unlikely if he is on good money at Spurs probably a silly loan fee then wages. Think better to buy and develop our own if its possible then sell for big profits if it feels right for the club.

Could Scott Mctominay be worth really splashing out on? I think he would have worked with McKenna before, but probably would be able to get a better salary at a West Ham etc.

Levy is also a pretty tough negotiator...

Surprised Skipp is on big money though, Tottenham's wages don't tend to be as crazy as the rest of the top six

Nodge fans were wild about him when he was on loan there - one of the biggest reasons they went up in 2021. He was in the PFA team of the year then. They would be seriously p'd off if we got him on loan. Make it happen!

If Skipp wants to be a nailed on starter at any club in the world that isn't in Saudi Arabia he will have to take pay cut. At any other club that would match his wage he would be a bench warmer or reserve like he is at Spurs. Holberg leaving would have upped his chances at Spurs mind you.

Getting Omari on loan initially wasnt beyond anyones dreams by any means. None of us had heard of him.

Signing him permanently was unexpected though.

I am scratching my head as to where I read it, but I saw a bit of analysis of McTominay recently, and the the view was that he definitely had great output in terms of goals, but all the other stuff that a midfielder has to do he was distinctly unimpressive (tackling, passing, winning the ball etc).

No idea if that is a legitimate point of view - would love it if someone could find that and reassure me that I have not completely made it up!

Anyway, if that is to be believed, he doubt he is coming to PR

He is a jack of all trades, master of none. He does not excel anywhere but I have been impressed with his goal scoring ability (like you said) when Man Utd or Scotland push him up front when they need a goal. 9 goals in 52 games for Scotland from a player who is primary a defensive midfielder is an impressive haul.

Never heard of him. Seen on Wikipedia that hes played 77 times for Spurs and loaned out to Norwich. News to me. Switched off from PL because its been all about Barry Bloody Bannon in my world. Not sure I'm ready for the PL.

Hutchinson had played no senior football at all (bar 1 sub appearance for Chelsea) before coming to Town. Players like that are a complete gamble - some are blown away by the pace & physical intensity of the Championship. Evan Omari took a while to adjust.
