Yeah he is, my wife works there. Ed Upson is also there
Alan Lee sounds like the sort of chap I’d like to be mates with. I really enjoyed the interview Our Phil (call me Cilla) did with him a few years back.

Yeah, I've not personally met him, but she says his a very nice guy! Down to earth and very genuine.
Even more amazing considering only the lower school played soccer when I was there. We weren't allowed to play professional sports in senior school. Only Rugby, Hockey and Cricket old boy. Mind you that was some 50 years ago.

I remember playing against them in their U14 football team in the 1960s. They were really crap - as they were really a rugby/hockey school. I sometimes wondered if John Motson was in their team then.

I know Ipswich School never played Culford at Cricket, I have no idea why
Were they historically weak, they certainly won't be any more, not with Mildenhall and Bury up that way?
Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I go back to the late 50’s and indeed Rugby and Cricket were their sports. When I was at Bury Grammer School we played their prep school at football in the first form only and cricket through the age groups. They always had a strong cricket squad and a couple of players in my years were being coached by Doug Insole at Essex.

Yes even in the early 90s rugby seemed more their sport than football. I remember playing against them as a 13 year old at their place and scoring a try by running round everyone. Once you get older than that, you actually have to be good at rugby rather than running quickly, and that was the small detail that foiled me.
They certainly weren't as good as they thought they were. Nice enough welcome, mind, and a good tea.
Can't blame them for teaming up with a football club that must have won the top flight really recently. I'll just go and check those historical stats.....

I remember we’d play them at rugby and cricket back in late 90’s / early 00’s.
There used to be a lad who had part of his hamstring missing on one leg…rumour in school was that it was a shotgun wound…either way, never seemed to hamper him getting to the breakdowns.
