Why are people disappointed? Harness wasn’t let go accidentally, Broadhead and Clarke are ahead of him, Hutchinson and Szmodics can play there if need be. On the right, Burns, Hutchinson and Ogbene are ahead of him.

I would have loved to see us get another quality striker in, and I feel we've handicapped ourselves a bit by not doing so, but I never liked the Broja deal from the start so not too upset we've not got him.
Nelson felt an odd fit - we've already got 3 players for that position, albeit he's possibly better.
And Harness isn't good enough for the Premier league - we need players who take absolute care of the ball when we get our attacking opportunities as those situations will be rare in some games. That's not meant as a dig at Harness, he's done well for us, but his ceiling is below the premier league. |  |

Broja not signing isn't an issue, it always seemed a weird situation
But nothing having a back up to that and seeing it through isn't great showing from us.
Clearly KM wanted a striker otherwise he wouldn't have been wanting Broja, so to send him into a prem season where even 1 injury to a striker leaves us vulnerable, it is extremely poor from the recruitment team. |  |

It's disappointing to see our hard work go without reward today. I'm confident we were fully intent on using our two PL loan spaces this window - the best opportunity to recruit quality that in normal circumstances would be beyond us - and so this is a kicker for the club. It's obvious we have worked very hard to bring in a marquee no. 9 too, ultimately to no avail. Sharing in this disappointment doesn't feel particularly wrong though there's no benefit in becoming despondent about it. I'm sure Ashton, McKenna and the rest of us will shake it off after a good sleep and I'm looking forward to getting on with the football now. Great test tomorrow against a normal outfit, let's see how we shape up. |  | | |

The Sky circus makes people disappointed. It's shown Nelson as 'choosing Ipswich' for the last couple of hours and now it's off. It seems someone needs to be blamed for that and toys must be thrown. We've spent north of £100m of the firefighter's and police pension pots and still people aren't happy.

Broja being crocked is hardly something surprising which only came about today. Where was Plan B? Plan C? Just can't believe we're going into the season with three strikers with no Premier League experience where we've made clear aims to bring it in elsewhere (Muric, Townsend, O'Shea, Phillips, Ogbene, Clarke). | |
