He's a leg end. We need more environmental loons like him, but it seems that we prefer to lock them up. Although I don't think Fergal has been arrested, so he shows you can effectively protest/lobby and stay on the right side of the law, but then he's can use his fame to open doors.
It's scandalous that we have the means to safeguard our rivers, but don't (enough).

Fergal hasn't been arrested because he hasn't glued himself to a motorway like a prize prick.
Fergal has got my attention because he is moving things through the correct channels and not alienating himself from the general public.
Most of the orange oil people are just waifs and strays, lost souls, lazy communists and attention seeking weirdos.
Call me old fashioned but I reckon Fergal has a better plan.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.
Enjoy your day out. Let those who didn’t buy water shares and sell them for a quick Buck or keep them for a high dividend yield cast the first stone. That would probably include everyone with a a private or company pension who has benefitted and continues to benefit from water privatisation at the public’s expense xpense.
And therein lies the problem. I don’t suppose many will campaign for zero new housing either until the infrastructure to cope with all those extra toilets and baths houses must have nowadays is put in place. That might also include Fergal’s country pile in Herts which almost certainly has a septic tank as so many houses in the country still do - not meeting a national standard.

I’ll be along for that. I also fish, but haven’t been to a river for three years because of the smell of sewage on every fish that comes out.
Not fished a river since 2019. Pretty much a waste of time then so would imagine it’s even worse now. I very much like how Mr Sharkey is going about this also.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.
Many moons ago my dear old Father was out drinking with my perfect cousin in The Rose and Crown in Colchester. The Undertones were staying in the pub,I believe they were playing at the Uni,the Father bought Fergel a pint. They were a great group.
