I'm sure the higher-ups at Spurs took some note of what happened there. That was a battle won through planning meticulously and seeing it executed brilliantly. You won't get a better first half from an underdog at Spurs than that. The shape, the movements, the distances between (for example) Tuanzebe and Johnson, the line breaking from Cajuste and Hutchinson, the ambition to throw men forward at the right moments – all came off perfectly and so well earned after the near misses recently.

Loved the minutes 75-99 too. We must have all feared the worst when Bentancur scored and the little spell after that was dicey. But after that we seemed to consciously step 5-10 yards up the pitch, boxed them in their half a little and caused a spell where nothing much really happened. Big save from Muric near the end but that was pretty much it and the game management was a really pleasant surprise all round.

So wonderfully well deserved for everyone with any interest in the club – and some effort to be out of the bottom three in the November international break, that's really been hard won. Can't overlook that we have taken four points from aways with Spurs and Brighton; very tough six months ahead but we are starting to look like a team that might cope.

I was saying on the way home that from minute one you could see the shape and the plan and they all played it beautifully.

I suspect they would have noticed the difference in class in the post match interviews as well.

The lack of “big chances” Spurs created was the most pleasing thing. We wobbled a bit at 2-1 but were never really rocked. Apart from Johnson’s early miss, can’t recall any massive worries they caused us. Fantastic result and performance.

Let's hope they don't sack Postecoglou any time soon

It's a very special combination where McKenna can come up with a strategy, communicate exactly what every player needs to achieve as an individual and as a team and that the players are able to carry out so well.

There was an instance right at the end where Omari was in the Spurs' box where earlier in the match he'd have got a shot away but instead chose to turn away, keep possession and run down the clock. He must be gagging for his first Premier League goal but his discipline in that moment spoke volumes for what's been installed by the manager.

“Nothing much really happened”.

I was out and following on BBC text and it sounded like the Alamo. It was nervy reading and at the end they reckoned Solanki had an easy chance, almost a tap in. Well, the highlight compilers seemed to think differently, as apart from the goal and Johnson’s chance early on it didn’t look like they created another good chance. Solanki’s chance at the end was speculative at best - a tight angle and you’d expect the keeper to block that 99/100. So “nothing much really happened” seems to sum up their attacks perfectly.

It sounds like we defended resolutely as a team after causing them all sort of problems in the first half = perfect away performance.

Think the most positive and pleasing thing is that it wasn't a smash and grab victory, which would have been fine obviously, but as you detail we were genuinely worthy of the win. Will hopefully give everyone a bit of confidence that we can find ourselves the right side of the margins going forwards, especially with what looks like a challenging Christmas and New Year period.

Would maybe be nice to try and keep this momentum going but actually not too bothered by a break this time - hopefully gets us a few more players back and gets some others a chance to build up a bit of fitness/sharpness.

Liked the look of the Johnson/Tuanzebe partnership on the right hand side - definitely looks a good option away from home in particular. Think this may get lost a little in amongst the other brilliant things to talk about but by my reckoning Leif Davis is really blossoming in his defensive game and is looking a proper all rounder Prem full back.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Axel makes a big difference to this team. He’s had 14 months or so with McKenna now and the improvement from the start to now is enormous. Looks every bit a premier league player again. Excited to see what he can do with the others hopefully.

They had plenty of chances but just put them all wise or over the bar, their finishing was dismal.

A phrase that occurred to me yesterday, is that we have 'matured' in the PL now, or at least we are well on the way to maturing. I think we hit the League hard with our running and pressing trying to shock opponents and force a few goals, but leaving ourselves wide open at times in doing so. It has worked well, and kept confidence pretty high with several near misses for wins or at least moral victories.

But we're starting to look much more comfortable now and that's allowing us to soak things up sometimes and focus our attacking energy a little more. When you think about it, we've seen pretty much constant progress of different kinds under KMc, and this current maturing phase at this level is possibly the most impressive part of our resurrection.

What a team.

Mostly from range though and nothing that made you think “oh s5it we’re in trouble here”
