I would look at it more as a four year irritant that the US and the rest of the world will recover from over time.

The pain will always be there but the memories fade over time.

I'm more scared of Musk, he reminds me of Lex Luthor!

Be careful about thinking that - Trump is positioning key individuals and potentially removing checks and balances which have limited how much authority these positions have held.

I half expect that Trump will not see out 4 years, but he will be succeeded mid-term by those far cleverer and manipulative (ie those who have already manouvered him into position).

Vance, Gaetz and Musk are the real danger . . . especially Musk who has built his career around moving himself into positions of power at his different companies and then removing the incumbents from the boards. His approach to Government will be no different.

No, but he does appear to be surrounding himself with some right loons for his next term. It's gonna be a crazy 4 years

Of course, back then EEC withdrawal was more of a Labour policy, but the Tories actually did it.

And they had to nationalise a couple of banks eventually, thanks to massive deregulation of the financial sector brought in by the Tories rather than for ideological reasons.

Maybe that is why they are worried about the apocalypse, they might not go up.

Also once you got power you are very reluctant to let it go.

I think you're right about Trump lasting 2 years and then ditched.
They'll do amendment 25 (or whatev) and remove him from office for being stark raving bonkers.
Above everything else, Americans value money the most. If those put in positions of power have a choice between fealty to Trump or enriching themselves, they'll dump Trump.
However, Since 2008 (Obama) the Republicans have stealthily placed/elected judges and other key officials in the red wall States and the swing states. There are way more Republican run states than Democrat ones. They have gerrymandered the voting districts so that all these states are Republican in House, Senate and Supreme Court. Sometimes a Democrat Governor is elected and he can veto some bills but he can never get any of his ideas put into law. If he made an executive order the republicans didn't like then the State Supreme Court would overrule it.
4 more years and the Republicans will have sewn up the US forever - it will always be theirs to rule.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

He will be gone before you know it. I too give him and the people he’s appointed a couple of years.

Impeachment, removed to a ‘facility’ or bumped off. Who knows, but he won’t last,

I would prefer Trump to be removed because he's an embarrassment.
He poops his diaper and stinks out a meeting, and the people there all call out his malodour, but they're French so he can't have them sent to the prison camps.

On a Podcast years ago, the person said he knew who the anti-Christ was.

He wouldn’t name them, but said they will be the person who gets the Middle East to sign a peace treaty.

A good mate of mine carries the Satanic bible, tarot cards, loves Trump, Farage and Johnson, used to dress up as a woman when fronting his band, knew Siouxie Sioux, has taken every substance known to man, is a black belt, crazy, knows how to drink and whose partner is possibly the dullest person I’ve ever met.

I think he’s the anti-Christ. I like him.

It is very interesting some of the things he has said in the speech he gave when it was clear he had won. They sound very deific. Things like "we will keep all our promises; everything will be perfect; we will sort everything out; nothing can stop us."

I actually think the Bible's reference to anti-Christ are as much about the spirit of anti-Christ and many who set themselves up in the position of God. It has happened a lot over time. Whether there will ever be one specific figure at the end of time is a little less clear in my view.

You need to read John Milton’s Paradise Lost. It’ll teach you all you need to know.

Actually, don’t bother. It’s beyond tedious and I’ve only read it because I was forced to at school.
