I'm not blaming him for the defeat, that's a team effort. 21:51 - Jan 16 with 2193 viewsNeedhamChris

However I don't understand what Greaves adds, personally think he's one of the weakest links whenever he plays.

I'd bring Burgess back in, he just doesn't look assured or at the level to me.

I'm not hugely convinced yet either but appreciate he needs a long run of games. Burge was a disaster at first - at League One level.

Tbf. Me and my son were asking the same thing.
I thought he came with a reputation of being a ball player but he looks as nervous as Burgess did when he first started playing mckenna ball.

a niche perspective

Good on the ball, but does seem to have a mistake in him each game.

I think Godfrey and Burgess might be in on Sunday.

Have a feeling the same players will be punished for a bad result - Walton and Woolfenden. Greaves will probably keep his place.

100%. KM will get his new men in.

Team spirit and all that, but players will have an opinion even if it doesn't affect the squad and their team mates. I'd be pretty unhappy if I was Cameron Burgess right now. He's been generally solid when called upon and Greaves has been the opposite, in my opinion.

Muric is one of mckenna's new men and he's been dropped.

Agree with the OP. Greaves might be the future but burgess is what we need in this relegation battle. I actually think he's better on the ball too. Greaves is just a bit quicker.

Agreed. I still don’t understand why Cam has been dropped tbh.

That's his reputation, and I think he generally is.

But has mistakes in him.

We missed him big time last season when he went away with Aus.

I think he could still be important.

Muric picked up a knock, and McKenna decided not to be so hasty to shove him in the line up as he was earlier in the season.

He made one mistake tonight but was otherwise very solid and won a lot of important headers?

Burgess must be well cheesed off with not retaining his place as he was playing well, so most of us thought ….strange call from McKenna.

He did the same earlier in the season. Woolfenden played well against Liverpool and Fulham in particular, then immediately dropped for O'Shea.

Other than getting caught out with that ball over the top (and, without seeing it again, looked like it was more unlucky that it sliced backwards than a total error) he had a fine game. Probably not quite hit the levels he was at when he was first in the team in fairness but overall a better player than Burgess imo.

Burgess seems to be one of those players (and I get why as he's been with us through it all the last few years) where everyone hyper-focuses on the good things he does but completely ignores weaker points or mistakes.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I didn’t see this post and posted this elsewhere too.

Burgess is just more solid. I don’t see Greaves as an upgrade personally
