Ohhh memories. Me and my mate Martin used to nick the catalogues from the shop in Clare that's now (if I read Google Earth right) a hairdressers and pore over them for HOURS.
Back in the day I did a 1/72 Lockheed Hudson. Slightly odd looking aeroplane, but it was very successful and one of the best examples of how design and procurement can work between countries and manufacturers.
My mate still makes up kits to a very high standard and actually bought a couple of rare ones in York last week. He’s doing a Ju87 at the moment with a Fairey Battle lined up next.

Airfix kits 2025 on 23:27 - Jan 21 with 1129 views
I got a couple of starter kits for Christmas.it’s a great idea to have everything you need to build the kit in the box too.Paints,brush,glue.
Trouble is I haven’t built a tank for 50 years,so my sausage fingers don’t help, and compared to my young days my eyes are pants.
But the instructions are great compared to how they used to be.

I’m the proud possessor of a 1/48 Fw190D-9 (a favourite aeroplane) my mate gave me when I finished work. He sourced the correct paints too, though I don’t have an airbrush. I haven’t done one in decades, but I ought to give it a go.
Instructions? They used to be a waste of time, if there were any.
Impressive, (judging by the hair style), that they've got a lower league footballer to present that.
They've taken authenticity to a new level at Airfix, but funding issues mean that for the moment far they can only employ one bloke to be both Head Of Brand and Wind Tunnel Operator.

Go for it I couldn’t be an Anglo Saxon and like that aircraft though.
