FA Cup 11:10 - Feb 11 with 3191 viewsIPSWICHFANITFC

Tell you what, if I was a Newcastle, Villa, Forest* or Bournemouth fan, I'd be fancying the chances of some FA Cup silverware looking at the draw. All of them have home games to get through to the Quarters as well.

Must be one of the weakest last 16's for some time? Both Manchester clubs are beatable these days and those 4 I've mentioned above are having strong seasons.

*Assuming Forest win tonight

Poll: If selling Jackson meant getting in a wide man, would you be happy with Garbutt?

I am in Nottingham and surrounded by Forest fans at work, they seem split on whether they want a cup run as they have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Or in the case of Norwich, clients of football participants.

Forest are having such a good season that I don't really fancy our chances at their place, but if they were somehow to lose to Exeter, suddenly we are in with a real shout, and can maybe even dare to dream.....?

I think Forest will play a very weakened side against us in that game - their sole focus will be on the league. Obviously we will as well, but their second XI doesn't greatly scare me. If we go with the right attitude, I'd make us near enough favourites.

If they win tonight, tell them they'd be stupid to risk any 1st teamers in the next round at such a crucial time of the season where Champions League qualification is the only priority.

They’ll still be able to put out a strong side regardless

The forest hierarchy will want top 4 for financial reasons and will likely want a weakened side out. Trouble is will we play at full strength?

Think that all depends on what our results, as well as the other clubs around the relegation mix, has been prior to that FA Cup tie.

Forest are gone either tonight or when they meet us. We will be far to strong for them. I fancy our chances this season.

Poll: New hobby suggestions for NeedhamChris.

Why would we obviously’ play a weaker team?

Couple of wins from Wembley… if we put out anything but our best 11 I’d be pretty pissed off

Can’t see us playing our strongest 11. Game against Man Utd the Wednesday before the cup tie, 3 away games in about 10 days including Palace on the 8th March just don’t think McKenna will risk some of his key players for Forest.

Prepare to be pissed off then. Mckenna will make changes / rotate, it's what he does. In fact it's what everybody does.

Best we copy everyone else then.

We’ve pretty much shown very little by way of fight to stay up of late. Might as well have a nice good go at the cup.

Had we beaten, or shown any promise again Southampton I think I’d be along those lines of thinking too.

But as I don’t see beyond us going down, a little cup run would be atleast something to take from a (possibly) poor second half of the season
