There's no pace or power in that side apart from Delap 21:41 - Feb 26 with 1542 viewsWarkystache

Philogene is a luxury - even Villa with better players couldn't get a tune out of him.

I miss Chaplin and Burns running at the back four. Playing Broady on the right? Jack Clarke is all fancy touches, but there's a quality player in there. He tried, but he's pretty paceless.

Taylor, Morsy, and I hate to say it but Davis aren't Premier quality. We can't defend for toffee. Tuanzebe has the turning point of the Titanic. O'Shea did well. Greaves was alright. I'd still like Burgess back with Woolfie though.

Relegation sadly. Hate to say it but nothing I saw tonight or last Saturday convinced me we have enough quality. We've bought Championship luxury players when we should have gone for a bit of Premier League nous.

Philogene had a great game.

How Davis and Claire escaped your criticism is baffling

He scored two, one a tap in and one a cross for Delap.

Apart from that, he didn't penetrate at all.

Personally I think Greaves flatters to deceive. Was really excited when we signed him but he is less dominating than Woolfy and Burgess. We have one quality defender at this level and that is Axel. And why on earth did we bring Sammie on in injury time. That was bizarre. Watching Casiemero sticking his chest out at the end to celebrate getting over the line against us summed up tonight.

I was so happy Philogene scored 2 in the first half but second half he was absolutely dreadful, never once tried to take a man on. Always played the easy ball, frustrating as hell.

Grieves, O'Shea and Tuanzebe did nothing wrong tonight. They all defended brilliantly. Not entirely sure what our set piece coach is doing.

I mean yhis is where people who actually know something about football can see he didn't have a great game

Yes he scored 2 goals which were let's face it, 2 errors from the goalie/defence.

But overall, he lost the ball loads, didn't cross when we needed it second half (maybe that's our tactic).

I would say probably one of the worst games from someone who has scored 2 goals.....

Yet we conceded from three set pieces and none of them got their head on any of them, nor on any attacking set pieces either

Agree. We didn't defend well at all. 3 soft goals conceded.

It's probably high ad he did a lot of backwards passing. I'd like to see his forward pass percentage. That would be low.

I'm not calling him out. I'm sure loads of others would be low too.

If you wanna look at other areas, Delap can't hold the ball on 50% of his first touches.

Wam bam thank you man and off the knees or shin.

Wouldn't surprise me if he had the most progressive passes in the team, but little was coming off in the last 15 minutes. Felt like we could have kept making subs for another hour and nothing would have changed for the better, which is a stark contrast to the difference-makers of last season.

I totally agree, sadly.

As much as I love Delap's personality and swagger, I often wonder what we'd have achieved if we'd recruited a better Hirst-style striker.

Most of his goals have been virtuoso efforts rather than team goals.

Tonight, against a low block, showed his lack of finesse. If I was an elite PL scout tonight I'd have more reservations than in previous weeks.

Omari flatters a lot but I'd still back him to have a go. Sadly, that horrific tackle in the first half knocked him for six.

He scored 2 quite fortuitous goals yes , but what exactly is his role in the team ? I thought he was supposed to be a speedy winger that whipped in crosses for fun , alas he either hit the first man or stopped and passed backwards…..confused.com

Philogene and speedy are not the correct words to use, even commentator said with quick players to break - I bet if you looked at philogene speed he wouldn’t even be within our top 25% fastest players

You thought wrong. He's an inside forward, not a speedy winger. He also had the best game out of all our front 4 tonight IMO.
