Got a good feeling about Saturday 11:47 - Mar 13 with 2122 viewsunbelievablue

In the NFL there's a bit of a trope-y adage that teams never beat another team 3 times in a season (when they play someone twice in the regular season and then again in the playoffs). On both occasions against Forest we've been in the game and could be considered unlucky to have lost.

They'll allow us plenty of ball as is Nuno's style. Per usual, first goal ultra critical. COYB.

I'm clinging on to the fact we're due a performance at home, and I do think we've got one in us. Not holding out much hope that a win would even close the gap this weekend as Southampton really don't seem to enjoy playing in front of their own fans (or anywhere else for that matter), but we really need to at least match the Wolves result this weekend. As unlikely as survival appears I would still like us to go in to the Wolves game knowing a win would put us within a few points of them.

I've said that for the previous 27 games to be fair.

I'm with you, baby. COYB!

We're still at a point where anything can happen; no point pussying out of the fight when you can still land punches and the other fella can spill his lollies and run off to mummy.

United allowed us plenty of the ball

I think we can get a draw.

They have lost their last three away and will turn up thinking it's an easy three points.

Hi we deal with their low block and fast breakaway attacks will decide this game. Almost might be better to invite them onto us and then hit Delap with a long ball ?

I'm sure we have lost to Forest, and a few others, three times in a season before across Cups/League/Playoffs.

Forest will start a lot stronger on Saturday, and given how poor we have been at home, generally speaking you'd expect them to win as comfortably as Spurs did, unless we have another performance like we did against Chelsea.

Every time I read one of these "got a good feeling" posts on here, it seems we lose comfortably. Not sure if that's because we get a lot of similar posts, or that we lose comfortably too often. Maybe both.

In hindsight that would be how we should have played a lot more games this year, but in McKenna style we've been confident that we can outplay teams enough to get points. We're just not good enough to do that.

Suppose you have to admire the blind faith that flies in the face of pretty much everything that we’ve witnessed at PR this season.

We’ve got worse as the season has gone on.

The hope that we could battle through until January , staying within touching distance of safety before bring in a couple of pieces to push on, has actually played out in reverse.

We looked far more of a threat in November/December and have regressed alarmingly since the win over Chelsea and the Jack Clarke post tickler at Fulham.

Realistically resigned to the certainty we’ll be 9 pts off safety come Saturday night, with the goal difference taking a further hit, so 10 pts in reality.

Sadly, have to agree. I just don't see why on earth anyone could predict anything else.

For me the sooner this season is over the better.

That said we will likely have some possessions and look good for 20 mins, likely go in 0-0 at half time, wouldn't surprise me at that point if Saints are 1 up too and that's the killer for me thinking we are get something either to concede early or late in the second half and our only possession then will be across back 5 and Sels won't even see the ball. To cap it off Wolves win 2-1.

Forest are excellent defensively & have the players to handle the physicality & pace of Delap as a lone frontman. Sure, he just needs one slip to get away & in on goal, but those guys frustrate the hell out of centre forwards, and he has been going to ground a bit too easy for the liking of some referees. He is one yellow card away from a 2 match ban, which would take the sting out of the advantage we get from any increase in Cunha's ban for Wolves.
I very much like the idea of starting Hirst up front, and playing Delap on the right side of the three attackers in behind (along with Enciso & possibly Broadhead) for this game. I know it would mean that we don't have a fresh striker to come on, but we've been delaying that too long of late anyway, and hopefully we'd have something to hold onto by the time both might have to have left the field. Surely Philogene, Hutchinson & Clarke can offer enough of a threat on the break in the 85th minute if needs be.
I think we need to do something different against this Forest side, if we are to get a result, and certainly if we are to get a surprise win.

Our weakness has been being hit on the break at pace , down the flanks with some pi55 poor defending - Forest are one of the best teams in this poxy league to expose that

Can’t see anything other than a defeat again I’m afraid which pains me yet again to predict

We’re so due a performance ,a result and likewise like someone else has posted ,I keep waiting for it to happen over the past amount of weeks but …….

It’s the detail in this league where you get punished and our level of detail whilst very very very good under KMcK , the delivery from some of our players hasn’t always been the best this season which I’ll add really isn’t their fault or anyone else’s IMHO. We’ve utilised what we have to the best of our ability but it’s not been good enough

Onwards and upwards
