Bit cliched or whatever, but that first half was excellent - celebrating both goals… chefs kiss and all that.

Johnson and palmer can duke it out for Motm today, both had moments that defined the game, both went about their jobs really well. If Davis had the cover from Clarke that BJ gave Axel we’d have had an even better day today.

We are really going to miss Delap, and we know Hirst if he’s fit will be great. His ball through to create the goal was a brilliant bit of intelligence.

Chelsea for all the diving, pushing off the ball and moaning were godawful. It’s a pleasure watching Cole Palmer in the flesh, but he was outshone by Ipswich players all too often. If anything it was Cajuste who looked more likely to be the £100m man out of the midfielders out there. If Morsy had the legs to make better passes and not switch off we’d have shut them down completely.

Sancho produced a moment of class, but that first goal right after the break is why we are not staying up. They made a sub, went straight down our weak side and scored. We just weren’t switched on.

A shame to see so many tourists, empty seats and silence from the home fans. Like City, Liverpool and United it’s hard to stomach when you go there. What the pre abramovich vintage must make of it now, god only knows. Maybe they’re all old enough to appreciate the calm?

There’s a bit of fight about us, a bit of pride and plenty of reasons to hope. It’s just be nice to go down close to the drop line, not miles away.

Nice observations. I always find Stamford Bridge a very odd experience. You could be excused for thinking you’ve gone to a high-end shopping centre and not a football ground.

As for the gap, I don’t mind as it’s going to be an exceptional season. The average number of points to survive over the whole of the PL period is 36. West Ham and Wolves already have 35 with 6 games left. And then Wolves have hit a ridiculously good period of form. Joint 2nd in the last 10 games with 19 points. We needed a bit of luck with more teams struggling, but it’s out of our hands irrespective of our results.

All we can ask for is what we’re seeing in terms of being competitive.

It's quite a good ground for intimacy and I bet it could rock. However, it just feels like the fans turns up expecting to see a romp every week. Tourism is killing the top club's experience for actual fans.

Palmer is amazing to watch. Vision, poise and intelligence is incredible. Sancho's strike is outrageous but think there is a lot in their squad absolutely stealing a living.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

The Spanish commentator was very impressed by theTown support, even translated a chant. Chelsea fans booing at half time was the only mention they got. Shame that performance wasn't mid-season, the spirit from the players was outstanding, and something to build on.

I was on a train from Leeds to Manchester yesterday to do a bit of football tourism myself at Droylsden v Garstang. 3 grey haired American women got on wearing City tops - I wanted to ask them about how they ended up there of all places.

Sounds like dark tourism.

It’s probably a bit of pressure off now. Players are playing for pride, possibly moves elsewhere or their place next season etc but it was clear that they didn’t want to be humiliated etc.

Chelsea fans are just background characters, there’s nothing to them and they’re like a few clubs like that.

Caicedo, Enzo and Jackson all looked bang average especially for the money. Their back four was all over the shop at times too. Maresca might have lots of money and quality at his fingertips but he doesn’t strike me as a decent manager.

Enjoyed seeing Johnson outpace / outfight Cucurella for the first and honestly thought Chalobah had a look fear when trying to keep up with Delap when he won the corner near the end.

I’ve just got home so I’m yet to watch it back, but I thought Johnson was either really underestimate or motivated today.

Trev looks like a player whose career has been messed about by Chelsea. I’m not sure I’d want to stay if I were him and there certainly wasn’t any togetherness in their back line

Been to Stamford Bridge a few times this season as my mate has a ST, and the atmosphere really is poor. There are your regulars that spend a lot of the game shouting at the tourists taking pictures to sit down, so they can see the action.

The proper Chelsea fans are all a bit disillusioned with the ownership. They're aware it's embarrassing to have spent all that money on bang average players.

Maresca, fraud of a manager who, even with arguably better resources, still hasn't beaten McK.

Gave you an uppy for this.
I went there back in the day, got in the ground and started chanting.
The other end emptied and we naively thought they were town fans coming to join us!
They came in chanting “ we are the shed etc”
A copper next to me said it was our fault for coming to Chelsea , what a tosser.
At least we were prepared for them when they came to the North Stand!
