Have we had a double dasher before?! 17:37 - Aug 14 with 1525 viewsAxeldalai_lama

Iván Azón
Have we had a player with acute accents in both names before. I'm sure we've had loads but I'm bored waiting for signings. Maybe we could make a dashing team!

Ivàn Campo had his accent going the other way. Is that a thing in Spanish?

In fact he didn't, and it isn't a thing in Spanish.

And for anyone who might be interested, under normal Spanish grammar rules, if Ivan were unaccented the stress would fall on the "I". And in the case of Azon, the stress would fall on the "A".

The accent in both names indicates the vowel where the stress falls, it being indicative of a difference from normal Spanish grammar rules.
