Why is it so difficult for public transport to actually work with the biggest crowd-pulling events in the region?

Aren’t the rail works planned much further ahead than the fixture list?

Yes but surely they could’ve told the clubs when it was way before the fixture list so they could’ve maybe worked around it?

Or even when the fixture list was published they could’ve re-arranged the works?

Spot on. It's called being sensible, but clearly Network Rail aren't

I'm interested to know why mark77 has down voted you, as he did me when I posted the same thing.? Seems odd.

I absolutely agree with you about how poor Greater Anglia are, as every Home game there are never enough carriages, even tho they know how many fans need to get to the ground. They're jam packed and it's a fight to get on!

What bit of the track will be affected, do you know (i.e. at what point is it trains all the way to Ipswich)?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Where it is possible to park, which I did a few weeks ago in order to avoid the rail replacement.

Not from Chelmsford then? Bus from there to Beaulieu Park?

You can get to Ipswich from Chelmsford but will involve changing at Colchester.

...unless you get the 8.25, which is what I'll probably do.
