No urgency in this team 16:32 - Mar 21 with 1391 viewsBlue_Heath

In second half we have a throw in 1/3 in the attacking half, two passes later Walton has the ball, this frustrates the hell out of me.

Also in first half we did similar with a free kick and played a backward pass before ref blew up for something.

Get the ball forward for crying out loud.

On multiple occasions we broke quickly only for the final pass to let us down, but to say we lack urgency is simply not true.

We balance urgency with attempts to control the game and try not get dragged into a slugging match of bombing forward and chasing back, like we did against Charlton earlier in the season when we got sucker punched 3 times.

Even when on the brake though it's never hell for leather and the further forward we got the more the chance looks like slipping away which it did multiple times.

I think we had several opportunities to go and win the game to be honest. They also had one massive chance.

Hell for leather is not urgency, it’s panic.

Well if they had two massive chances, on that selective basis the score is really 3-1 Millwall isn’t it? Surely you should be over them moon; happy we managed to scrape an undeserved lucky point.

Not sure what you mean by ‘no urgency’. I presume you mean the players aren’t interested, can’t be bothered, aren’t trying, don’t care?

Fair enough, I should give up your season ticket if I were you.

Over the moon absolutely not, at half time I felt that was a great first half but concerned we'd only got the one goal.

Another opportunity to go second gone begging and home games fast running out so no I am not happy!

McKenna and his heavily coached players only know one way to play unfortunately. We rarely shoot, snd tippy happy it around at the back and up front. Its over kill on passing. None of our players look to shoot...

17 shots suggests we're shooting every five minutes on average, hardly a shot shy team. The issue is how many of them end up troubling the keeper.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Yet there are only 4 teams who average more shots from outside the box per game in the Championship this season.

I think I know the exact passage of play you're referring to, and I thought the same. I could be wrong but I think their goal came shortly afterwards as well.

We don't seem to try and strangle teams as much as we would have a couple of years ago. We're more happy to restart and recycle instead of keep pressure on and keep the ball in their final third. Could be bobbins but that's how it feels sometimes.

Agree, Taylor yesterday burst forward, he's known for a thunderbolt and plays a lame pass classic example.

Clark does shoot and guess what he scores!

I think Everyone has forgotten that Millwall are joint on points with us, they may not be lovely to watch but they are effective at the what they do, and second half as we have seen all season, we look fragile against big teams, we should have been out of sight first half, they just ramped up the pressure and aggression second half and it paid off for them. But we re grouped , didn’t lose, and that first half performance was something to be very positive about. Let’s roll Birmingham over and get a run started, crowd was superb yesterday as well.

Azon was superb first half yesterday, winning everything, battling for everything, and he even stayed on his feet all first half. He’s got to start every match, he looked like a player ready for a promotion push.
