Blackburn hold on against Boro 14:24 - Mar 21 with 1724 viewstonybied

No damage done. Just a shame we couldn't take more of an advantage into the second half!

Boro are blowing it aren't they. Might be us or Wall for 2nd if Wall go to Boro and win next week.

Still in our hands. Ticked off a difficult game and Boro have them next.

Not ideal but now recharge for a couple of weeks for the relentless run in.

Truly impaired.

Winning today and our next two would have gone a long way to getting automatics. Losing them all would have put us firmly in play off territory. A draw in each is going to keep it all very tight.

It would be great to win the next two.

EDIT: My mistake, I thought it was Boro as well as nodge. I note they have Millwall and we play Brum and then Boro is a few more matches away.

Yup, and hopefully back to full strength after the break.

Could be Millwall as champions and us second as yet.

Although, I think Coventry will be fine and will win it.

But a Swansea win later would still be helpful

Realistically we are playing in a league if 3 for 2nd place

Let's focus on that and if Cov implode then great

Boro can't keep on being this bad surely

Coventry had a bit of a wobble a while ago and another one would be good. I don't think Frank deals well with that sort of adversity and it would be good to see an extended poor run from them.

No damage done, we failed to win one of our few remaining home games while rivals get two good draws away, in terms of the league table today no but in the long term this is a damaging result. We needed a win.

I do sometimes wonder if some people think we are second with a 5 point gap!

Or haven’t looked at our April fixture congestion and how many more away games we have over home games.

It’s almost like at first half we hit an amazing second shot from the fairway and made the green, then second half we three putted when had a chance to basically knock out one of rival from contention. All this while Boro a few strokes better than us a few holes on also don’t pull away then we are just happy shaking hand with par and moving on.

At some point you have to start scoring birdies when you’re playing catch up, especially when in position to do so!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

We won’t know if damage was done until we know the final points and placements. Luckily Boro didn’t put more distance on us, but today’s result could still be significant (or not).

I really don't think if we'd drawn 0-0 away at Blackburn it would be regarded as a "good away draw". It would be the end of the world.

I've watched Boro's last three games. They are hopeless.

Issue is, after Millwall they have;

Swansea (Play football and get battered by better teams) A
Pompey (in awful form just lost 6-1 to QPR) H
Wednesday (a cashed token for all) H

We’ve seen them beat some teams fairly comfortably that try and play and also have a million shots against low block teams and struggle. I think it’s going to be a stretch for Pompey or Wednesday to do anything up there. They’ve got away with it a little bit but could also almost be out of sight if they done their job.

We are going to have to beat Brum and Pompey, not lose against those lot and beat Boro I think.

If Millwall go to Boro and win, it’s game on for them and changes things somewhat. Still would be the second best Good Friday result though.

I sometimes think people haven't noticed Millwall are challenging for top two and we were missing 5 of our best players today.

A draw today was far from a damaging result. Losing to Millwall would have been damaging and winning would have helped us a lot. A draw is neither.

We have Boro to play at Portman Road, nodge and Southampton away. Aside from that, we have lower half of the table sides to play. Yes, fixtures are going to be coming thick and fast but the return of Davis, Kipre, Burns, Philogene and Nunez after the international break will make us a lot stronger. Without them we have lost no ground on Boro (in fact we have gained some) and nothing of any consequence on Millwall either.

I tend to disagree I think we needed to win today, it’s these games that will get you promotion, especially if you’re not super reliable on the road, which is where we have 5 to play. We should be beating Millwall at home and we were heavy favorites to do so. Much better result for them than us.

It’s only not massively damaging thanks to Boro again. That won’t keep happening, we have the tougher April. I expect us to beat Brum, if we go to Norwich and actually win and both the others have dropped points maybe I’ll be singing a different tune. They have the nicest two home games you could ask for if they can navigate the next two.

I agree with you other than it was a damaging result, destroys confidence, another opportunity to go 2nd missed. Those games against Saints/Scum could in the blink of an eye put us out of the picture for 2nd. We need to start building a buffer not banking on IF we win a game a hand.

With the team looking like they are starting to bond a bit, (first half) and the break we will get in preparation for a mental April, I actually believe we are capable of putting a run together, especially with everyone looking likely to be available. A draw between Millwall and boro or a Millwall win, should put a rocket up all their arses, we could be in for one hell of an April. COYFB’s !!!!

Except second half they undid all the good work. The first half was probably as good a half as we have played a decent side and controlled the game but only getting the one goal yet again was the downfall. We don't kill teams off when in the ascendancy.

Wonder save from their keeper for azon shot, I’m not sure we undid ourselves, Millwall are not joint 3rd for no reason, they ramped up the aggression and pressure and it paid off, I think we were a little naive to think they would come out second half And play like the first.

It's frustrating though on 08:14 - Mar 22 with 593 viewsDyland

I was an odd mix of annoyed and relieved at the final whistle yesterday. Walking back to the car starting to dissect the game we agreed we got a bit lucky at the end, and what with the Boro result actually there were more positives than negatives from the day. And emncouraging to see McAteer having a better time of it. Johnson also pretty damn good.

Buuuut... now again the frustration creeps in... we really buckled under the physical pressure. So annoying to be schooled so completely in physicality and sh1thousery. Not a criticism of Millwall, far from it. But we made therm look better than they are. And they played a blinder on this front, really aggressive and kept at it leaving us plenty of opportunities to attack. Our execution got worse and worse, our decision making pants, and we looked like we'd kind of shat ourselves.

Buuuut... again on the plus side, we're no worse off albeit obvoiusly you ideally win home games with our silly run in... most importantly though, it was entertaining. Not always in a good way. Jeopardy galore. And another half at least of excellent football.

And back to the negative.... really need to motor aggressively through an entire game ffs!

I’m going to take all my positivity from that first half performance, and totally disregard the second half, it’s in our hands it’s looking like we will have a fully fit squad for the remainder of the season which is massive , April is going to be one hell of a month of ups and downs. But I genuinely feel we can do this.

How many times have we said the break will do us good, it’s time to iron out issues? Then after the break we perform just as bad, if not worse. This season hasn’t got going, and we’re 8 (probably going to be 10) games from it ending. Then it’s a massive rebuild, manager gone by mutual consent plus players going elsewhere and sold.
This season was the best opportunity of us going straight back up, but I fear we aren’t going to do that. We barely can perform a whole 90 mins, yesterday being 2 points dropped considering our run in has some very difficult away games.

Yep, to get 6 points from the last 4 games is really gutting, some crap teams in there, was such a huge chance to make hay while the sun was shining so to speak, not just stay in touch to go into the April slate. We’ve missed a massive chance to put all the pressure on Boro, having two games in hand won’t look great if the gap keeps widening.

5 away games on the road and two against the divisions form teams.

Boro could actually be out of sight but we haven’t taken advantages of their slips either.
