| Worst Town Kits, Home and Away 20:12 - Mar 30 with 2302 views | Dubtractor | Inspired by that BBC worst kits feature, I thought it might be a nice distraction to consider our kit horror shows from over the years. Home Kits That first Magical Vegas one is obviously a contender, but the kit itself (sponsor aside) was pretty inoffensive, something straight out of the Adidas catalogue. For me, the 'coca cola' stripe kit from the mid 00s is the worst offender, looked bad on it's own, but the stripe never lined up with the shorts so made the whole team look a shambles. Away Kits It's a tossup between the 95/96 Green and Burgundy shocker, or the 96/97 cream (!) and black Abbot Ale shirt. The green and burgundy takes it though. Dreadful effort. | |

That's awful. There was another dreadful powergen one that was completely blue but it felt like the wrong shade. Might have been just before this one Edit - it was actually the TXU energi one from the 2001/02 premier league season [Post edited 30 Mar 20:18]

Same. In a size XXXL as well. Also the fact we used to make our own shirts, assuming that's what Punch/Core was. Can't have been too many clubs doing that!

Core were actually involved with a handful of other clubs https://www.footballkitarchive

Lesson learned! I see Punch wasn't exclusive to us either, having made Crawley Town's 1999/0 home kit.

There was significant outcry about the shorts, I remember there even being a petition etc to get them changed! I seem to remember that shirt was a fan designed one. Possibly one of the last punch shirts?

| Worst Town Kits, Home and Away on 20:55 - Mar 30 with 1393 views | algy | I remember we played Watford at home when we had that burgundy and green away kit and some of their fans were wearing their away kit by core with green sleeves and burgundy body. Looked like the manufacturers had a load of burgundy shirts and a load of green ones and swapped the sleeves. | |

| Worst Town Kits, Home and Away on 21:55 - Mar 30 with 1183 views | ITFC_Forever | Wasn’t the Coca-Cola kit designed by a fan? Another reason never to let the public decide anything important. And yes, the worst home kit we ever had. Worst away one? Hmm, trying to think… I don’t like the current red one, although we do seem to get decent results in it. | |

The fan only designed the shirt, though, and it was intended to be worn with plain shorts, which would have looked ok, I reckon. The club decided to add the swoosh to the shorts.

| Worst Town Kits, Home and Away on 20:26 - Mar 30 by BackToRussia | Same era but this surely has to have a mention for worst. Props to the designer who found a way to only design half a shirt. [Post edited 30 Mar 20:27]

For some reason I can't see it without clicking on it (probably can't get through the TWTD bad taste filter). But yes, the 'dipped in bleach' monstrosity was the exact shirt I was coming here to post. [Post edited 30 Mar 22:27]

| Worst Town Kits, Home and Away on 22:25 - Mar 30 with 1072 views | algy | The worst shirt during the years that I bought them was the umbro 94/95 home shirt, last year before they dumped us. Our shirts had for a few years always had red trim but that year's had black along with black printed patterns same as Everton's away shirt that year, even our badge was on a patch the same shape as on Everton's. At the time I thought that it was a shirt Umbro proposed to them but they rejected. Thankfully, unusually at the time, we only had it a season. | |

This year's away kit is definitely horrible, runs the green and purple monstrosity pretty close

I agree. I just don't think red is an Ipswich colour. The black/grey third kit annoys me more though as it does not have the proper Ipswich badge on it, and I think we wear it just to sell more shirts when we could play in blue instead. https://shop.itfc.co.uk/produc

I'm sure we were in charge of Punch as there was a spell when they/we produced kits primarily aimed at the non-League scene as I remember picking up a catalogue from the club shop.
