18 in August of that season, though that's still very young to be playing regular Championship football.
Interestingly, Arsenal didn't loan him out again (when I thought they would) & he spent last season playing U23 football plus the odd cup game. Still only 20 & looks to be developing nicely. |  |

I didn't see last nights game and am pleased he performed well.
I have however seen him play a couple of times for the gunners - away at West Ham being one.
He's a decent player sure - and will improve.
However, for him to now becoming a regular of Arsenal really does indicate for me how far backwards they've gone.
He wouldn't have been anywhere near the side with Pires and co, however Arsenal have gone backwards and these days are fighting top be top 4.
Line up wise that's the worst Arsenal 11 I can recall for a league game since something like 1996. | | | |

He did well FIRST HALF of the season and tired second. Infact second half,,,, I'd rather we sent him back frankly!
That ' tackle ' at Bolton still rankles with me to this day, so did his completely inept subs appearance at Huddersfield when we won and his ' workrate ' would have made a completely shot / drugs taken ruined Mario Jardel at Bolton ( formerly world class ) look energetic.

No indeed, the view there is that he’s a central midfielder. Notable also that he was on the left last night, while he played most games on the right for us. He’s developing into a pretty flexible young player. | |

Bodes well for us in a lot of ways too. AMN, Lawrence, Fraser, all developed very nicely with us, 2 of whom regulars in their first teams and the other sold for a good chunk of cash. Celine probably wont get in the City first team for a while if at all but they could sell him if they wanted for a very decent fee. |  |
