Mum's funeral tomorrow... 12:42 - Jun 13 with 3108 viewsNorthstaNder

... so I've got myself out of the house and have wandered up the road to Kenny's Cafe for a bite to eat.

Emotions are all over the place. We've got family coming to stay with us later today and I just don't want to be there when they arrive.

Will be glad when tomorrow is over.

So sorry to hear that. I can understand you wanting to be alone.

Hope tomorrow goes as well as can be expected.

RIP your mum.

Thoughts with you, a painful time - this place is great, though , to offload and for support.

Sorry to hear that.

Difficult to know what to advise, some people like time to contemplate things on their own.

Although its probably best to try to get hold of a good mate who can provide a shoulder to lean on. I know it sounds daft, but try to find something to do that you would usually find enjoyable.... I'm sure your Mum would rather have thought of you enjoying yourself rather than being upset.

Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Thinking of you.

Take time to let your feelings come through and dint try to rush that

This is something I found a while ago that seems to have helped a few people

You may not always realise it but with TWTD you aren't alone, we may be an odd bunch but we are all here for you

(PS if any is upset/offended as that has a religious connotation just substitute something more applicable such as 'your unconscious mind' and it still works.

The the thought that counts more than anything else and not offence is intended)

Been through it. It's tragic but you'll find the strength somehow. I hope everything goes as well as it can. My thoughts are with you as a fellow human being and of course town fan.

Been in that position recently. No words can help and you have to do what is right for you.

Just don't be afraid to let your emotions and thoughts out.

Its easy to say it gets easier but I still have bad days - certain days (birthdays, etc) I know will be difficult but other times just a random song, saying or memory can make me a blubbering mess.

Just take your time.... thoughts are with you.

There isn't much anyone can usefully say to help but I hope you can find time tomorrow to remember your Mum as she would want to be remembered.

All the best that it goes as well as it is possible for a funeral to go.

remember having very similar feelings when my Dad passed. All id say is that that old cliché about time healing, is pretty bang on. not a lot you can do in the meantime but feel the grief and get your head round it all slowly. just be easy on yourself.

Hope everything goes smoothly.

It was my Mum's funeral last August. I actually found the funeral itself to be quite comforting in many ways

You don't really get past missing her but you do get more used to it.

Thoughts are with you.

Its tough but you will get through it. We all deal with grief differently so I cant offer much advice other than take time.

Hope it goes as well as it can do tomorrow.
