The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) 12:38 - May 19 with 1921 views | artsbossbeard | Get it watched. In fact get the whole Town squad to watch it as homework. Amazing to sit back and try to comprehend that there's all these young lads who get scouted and the drafted to the NBA and even when you've got players at the very top of their game, one man can simply stand head and shoulders above still...and I've not mentioned Michael Jordan yet either, who is a hop, skip & a jump above Scotty Pippin. Brilliant stuff.

The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) on 12:42 - May 19 with 1899 views | LankHenners | Superb documentary, leaves plenty to be read between the lines about Jordan whilst showcasing the extraordinary talent he possessed and what it takes to be a top competitor. Steve Kerr the unsung hero of the series - the revelation of his backstory at the end is a gut puncher.

The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) on 13:19 - May 19 with 1836 views | Darth_Koont | Sounds good. Can't pretend to be a big basketball fan but the same is true for Formula One and I loved the two Netflix series about the people and personalities behind the largely dull races. Is this similar in the sense you don't have to love the sport at all?

It makes it very accessible for anyone with an interest in sport or simply 'achievement' as a concept. Heavy emphasis on the personalities involved and, like all good sports documentaries, limits the amount of the basketball you see to just important bits.

Excellent! Thanks for that. I've been skating past it on the Netflix homepage but now I'll put it at the top of the list.

The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) on 17:58 - May 19 with 1618 views | Mullet | Got 9 and 10 left which I'll get into tonight. I was a big Orlando fan so seeing them in 95 was nice. Penny Hardaway was my favourite for some reason so would have been nice to hear from him. Brought back loads of nostalgia for Pippen, Payton, Malone and loads other players for the 18 months when basketball was the big phase at school around that time. Loved how flawed we get to see MJ is and how brilliant. It's made me really appreciate the sport too and understand it much better. Still can't get over how many cigars they all get through.

I was a Magic fan too, there is a really good 30 for 30 on them from new franchise to those finals

The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) on 09:59 - May 20 with 1490 views | bluewein | Finished last night. Best sporting documentary I've ever watched. MJ saying people might see him as a bad person is an absolute lie. The guy is everything I would want in a team. A born winner. As stated earlier, how good must it be to have someone as brilliant as Pippen and then have someone who's just 100 times better...?

I watched it and enjoyed it but given Jordan had the ultimate say as to what went in I don't really think it can be accurately described as a documentary if you put it up against for example the OJ documentary and some of ESPN's 30 for 30 output. It was never directly critical you had to read between the lines to understand this. The gambling, bullying and poor treatment of Krause (who died in 2017) also needs to be mentioned. https://www.thenation.com/article/society/michael-jordan-last-dance/ [Post edited 20 May 2020 10:19]

My team back then were the Portland Trailblazers because of Clyde Drexler I went to see the Magic last year and it was superb, they are crap now but it is one hell of a night out Growing up near 2 air bases basketball was as bug as football at my middle school. Our chool team was ridiculous thanks to a few of the Americans

The Last Dance (probably miles behind here) on 10:53 - May 20 with 1431 views | Darth_Koont | Update: Binge watched the first three episodes and it's been superb. Thanks to you and the others for selling it in. I like the way they weave the history and the characters together. In the Robson documentary I thought the jumping back and forward was a bit unnecessary but here it helps build the story and give individuals the time to be developed in their own right.

As a bit of an NFL fan I watched this, the interesting part for me was the bit about the brain injuries and the impact that could have had on him.

You don't need to be Darth, I'm not either but it is a thoroughly absorbing watch. It's a must see.

To me, it highlights that you can have the ability, like MJ, but what made him great was that mental strength, belief and commitment to work hard. He could deliver when it really mattered. [Post edited 21 May 2020 16:29]
