They need to learn to hold on to the ball for 10 seconds before turning backwards and playing a simple 5 yard pass.

Imagine the contrast with how George Burley would be treating and encouraging our younger players.

When senior players make big cock ups they barely get mentioned by management.  However, when a younger player does they get aired in public.

I don't know what Lambert is trying to achieve via the team photo stunt. Whatever it is it's not big and it's not clever.

In the case of Iddy, PL did outline that to some extent the other day, see the end of this.

Lambert: Really Happy With How We Played, Errors Due to Rustiness 25th Aug 2020 17:40
Town boss Paul Lambert was happy with how his team played as they were beaten 4-1 at home by West Ham in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly and put the errors which led to some of the Hammers’ goals down to rustiness after five months out. 57

Maybe and I don't know, but maybe he doesn't rate them. He sees more of our squad than any of us, so perhaps they are not as good as we think or hope that they are. It could be that he is just a sh1t manager, but it could also be that they aren't that good.

We already know that he's a sh!t manager so I'm going to go with it being that.

On the one hand you ask this (which basically says you know nothing of professional football and how much there is to learn in the game for a young player) on on the other hand slate Lambert for being useless. Why does everyone think they can pass judgement on someone for which they have no expertise themselves. Baffling.

He's literally just singled out a senior player (Chambers) for a cock up.

Have you got an example of a younger player's cock up being aired in public?

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

The younger players do still have plenty to learn, but as the OP outlines they have other attributes that some of the more senior players do not have - athleticism, pace, ambition and for the more attacking players, dare I say it, a desire to want to score or create a chance to score.

In addition, I would also say that our more senior players have plenty to learn too. For example, Nolan needs to know how to tackle without committing a needless foul or position himself to hold up an attack, Skuse needs to know how to make himself available when we have the ball and not just to pass it back to the person who passed it to him or to a defender, whilst when Judge is not playing in his preferred position he needs to provide cover defensively and not for example allow a two against one on our full back which happened last season. Age and experience does not always equate to learning and development. Sometimes it feels that some our our more senior players are playing their first game for the 400th time - this is an exaggeration but you get the gist.

So the man with a picture of George Burley as his avatar doesn't like a message in which I was essentially yearning for Burley instead of Lambert.

He's done it on several occasions.  I can't be bothered to go through all the match reports (or Lambert's subsequent match comments) but I know he has previous.  His most recent example would be against Drinan less than a week ago:

"Young Aaron Drinan, who has been brilliant for us in pre-season tried to do something in one touch when he should have done it in two and we got punished."

Although at least on that occasion he praised him first so I'll give him that at least.

So you admit it wasn't really singling a player out? I mean it wasn't that harsh a comment. And you've failed to comment on the Chambo calling out. You did say it didn't happen with older players. Can you address this please?

I only want facts, mate. That's al I ask.

You asked for a comment and I gave you one.  Fact.

His comments and actions in regard to our youth players seem to be bemusing most people apart from you it seems!

"Woolfenden I think has got to start to get going and start to perform."

There's two negative comments about youth players in less than 1 week.  Fact.

How many negative comments towards senior players this last week as you seem like the sort of person that likes to keep score?

And did you miss the word barely?  He rarely seems to criticise Chambers for the many cock ups he's made.  I think he had a little moan after the game against Sunderland last season and rightly so as that was a woeful error.  He's had two moans I can count about Chambers yet I can think of many more mistakes.  If Woolfenden made that many errors I'm convinced the ratio of public moans from Lambert in Luke's direction would be much higher.
