TalkTalk 18:50 - Oct 29 with 2279 viewsjeera

Joined a couple of weeks ago as a change from Vodafone.

£23.50 flat fee for fibre which suits my use fine.

On my statement I've been charged more and on brief inspection I am paying for 'boosts'.

I didn't order any extras.

Wtf is wrong with these firms? They just seem to do as they like.

You'd have thought Talk Talk would be careful with shenanigans like this given their previous misdemeanours with Mrs Harding etc

TalkTalk is usually top of consumer complaints about a whole heap of issues, not least billing and customer service. If it's not too expensive to cancel, I'd consider it.

This is basic stuff.

You sign up at an agreed rate and you set up the DD accordingly.

You check the bill and the pricks are taking what they like with made-up add-ons.

I'll call them tomorrow, but to be honest, when was the last time you phoned any company and actually just got through?

It's going to be an hour's wait isn't it, with the now familiar "We are experiencing a high volume of calls blah..."

I want to live in a hut on a hillside somewhere, with a few goats.*

*for food and milk, in case someone like J2 sees this.

Funnily enough, I seem to have recieved my first billing a shade outside of the 2 weeks free canceling period.

I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.

You want to be careful though. The phone signal is likely to be dodgy living on a hillside.

Mate, they are the worst company i have ever had the misfortune to be a customer of.
Took nearly 6 months to resolve one contentious issue, spent more on phone calls than the amount they owed me, but i wouldn't back down out of principle and got the refund.

Good luck.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

There aren't too many firms I haven't fallen out with it feels.

I was with Talktalk only 2 years ago before switching and never had any problems.

But there was nothing to have any problems about. This is something a bit new though.

To be sticking things onto the bill I didn't order and it looks like I'm supposed to go to 'my account' and uncheck them or something. Ffs, that doesn't even make sense.

When I do a Tesco online shop I don't go through the entire range unchecking the stuff I don't want to order!

I'll call them a few names tomorrow and see what happens.

Had a few phone calls abruptly ended after "having words".

Hope you manage to sort it.

When i joined BT, i specifically stated i wanted online bills as they charge you £2 a month for a paper one.
First bill comes, £2 extra charged. This went on for 6 months. It was a waste of my time but i had to ring them up out of principal! Haha

However their internet has been great. Shame they keep putting the prices up. Stopped all the sport and TV now and just have Broadband! Plus cos i had an old box, they let me keep it!

Talk talk always seem to have problems around where I live along with Virgin, but im guessing it differs from area to area.

As I say I was with their broadband service only 2 years ago.

Swapped to Vodafone seamlessly and have just switched back again with no problems.

The issue I'm having now is they are charging me for a service I didn't order, which yes, is unacceptable.

Hang on, your deal is unlimited, right? That's the only thing I can think of that would be included as 'boosts', going over any download limit.
