What an utter joke. 10 substitutes possible each match. Football is ruined. Second half's could be just stop start and never get going properly.

Oh, bless you.

Judge is Lambert's Dougie. Albeit Judge is only being ineffective at League 3 and is apparently capable of being ineffective in far more areas of the pitch than the 'just ineffective in the centre circle in the Championship' Douglas.

They can only stop the game 3 times (excluding half time), so same stoppages as with 3 subs.

In theory you would think it would benefit us, what with having a little more depth that your average club at this level. I do agree though, I'm not a fan of the change, I can see sides making a sub every 2 minutes for the last 10 just to kill games off.

Don't think they can do that because, apart from halftime, you can only sub at 3 times I think so making 5 individual substitutions would not be possible.

Don't know what happens if you get 4 players injured and need subbing though!

So you would have to put more than one on at a time if you wanted to make 5 in the second half? Or you can put 2 on in the first half and 3 in the second? Or however many of the 5 you wanted at half time?

The reason Judge is ineffective in far more areas is because he can't stay in the damn position he is supposed to be playing in.

I appreciate my reply is likely woosh worthy but it annoys the f*ck out of me.

No it's fine. I think we've moved beyond simply knowing that Judge is crap now, it's important to know WHY he's crap.

That is true but I think that Judge is the sort of player that needs to be allowed to drift about the pitch if he is to be effective at all so restricting him to one position goes against that.

No chance, he's too integral to our style of play.

And allowing him that freedom to drift has worked wonders, hasn't it?

There's no-one in our side looks up in the sky as well as he does when the lump from the centre halves(after the obligatory dozen passes at he back) sails overhead.

No it hasn't which is a shame because I think he, along with Huws and Sears should have been really outstanding at this level but all three have disappointed.

I still think that if Judge is in the side the best chance of him being of much use is to allow him to go where he wants rather than having him stuck wide left or something.

I don't disagree - but two things.

He hasn't shown any kind of form that warrants him being given a chance to do this
I'm not convinced we have a good enough team to accomodate allowing Judge to roam like this

An example would be.

1 sub - 1st half
1 sub - half time
1 sub - 2nd half
2 sub - 2nd half

or

1 sub - 2nd half
1 sub - 2nd half
3 sub - 2nd half

5 subs, but only 3 stoppages, as half time doesn't count because its a stoppage regardless of subs.

What would be annoying is

1 sub - 1st half
1 sub - half time
1 sub - 2nd half
1 sub - 2nd half
Goalie red carded! because even though there's 1 sub left to use... you can't use it as all 3 stoppages have been used.

Certainly when he was nominally playing wide left and he drifted he left the LB exposed.

Both your points are very valid because he has not shown enough which is frustrating because he does have the ability to control games, you are also right that having someone drifting does not work with the personnel that we have.

I don't know what the answer is because I think that on ability he should be in the team (somewhere) but on performance then probably not.

Which is why I find him so frustrating - he 'should' be a cut above anyone in this league, he 'should' be able to dictate and control games and really be our creative force. Sadly, he's nowhere near that.

I'd like to see them allow all subs to be made at the same time, rather than waiting for one to leave the pitch, be replaced. Then the next one walks over, etc... That'd save a minute or two if say 3 subs are made at the same time.
