Announcement re. fans return to the ground? 12:12 - Nov 27 with 522 viewskizaitfc

What's the hold up, they previously had plans for 1,000 fans to enter PR, and they had a decent amount of notice this tier system was coming and the potential for fans returning.

Yet they don't seem to have the plan finalised?

I assume it will be a basic ballot on season ticket holders?

I hope they dont got down the route of putting longer ST holders, gold members, or people that didnt take a refund for last season as priority. Lets just keep it simple and open it to all people who are currently forking out for this year's season ticket.

They may have assumed that we would be in tier 1 and planned accordingly. Now have to halve the numbers.

First home league game fan can attend is 12th December plenty of time.

Wonder if fans will be allowed to attend the Youth Cup game, would be more interesting.

They have to decide who the unfortunate fans are going to be

I wonder whether they may put some geographical restrictions in place ie ST holders who live in Ipswich and therefore may have less need for public transport getting first dibs.

I'm sure they have to jump through more rings to get risk assessments finalised and all that boring but extremely necessary red tape altered from what many thought would be a Tier 1 scenario.

If Ipswich allow fans back - here's a thought. by homer_123 27 Nov 2020 8:07
If Town do decide to allow fans back to Portman Road - I think all 2,000 seats should be given to those key workers who have worked tirelessly during this pandemic.

Everyone from NHS workers to Care and Shop workers to the Bin Men and Women who didn't stop and haven't stopped during Covid.

It would be a nice gesture from the Club.

I await the jokes about it being a punishment at the moment etc etc but, jokes aside, it's about giving a little back sometimes.

The Club aren't going to make money allowing ST holders back to watch matches under the current situation, even if there's a few buying tickets, it's still hugely loss making - so why not, for the Portsmouth and Burton games (which fall before the 16th) give those tickets away?

I'll happily give me seat up if my ST seat is selected to attend either of those matches.

Just a thought.

Perhaps they are reluctant to break the bad news to fans who will be returning.
