Lambert is a problem but Evans is THE problem. 12:43 - Feb 17 with 2484 views | monytowbray | Usually when two sides play blame and deflection the middle ground is both are sh1t. Lambert is a 2 year constant, Evans is a 13 year constant. Anyone who's worked in a crap failing business with a poor boss who refuses to listen (been there myself) will tell you it doesn't matter who you recruit if their hands are tied.

Agree, but our fanbase by and large don't seem to understand the concept of micro goals feeding into macro goals. If we (likely) recruit another dud, be it on the manager, Evans, or both, the default position will again be the same narrative we see now - Fans demanding a change to the system but not realising the system is the problem. Problem is, removing Lambert is one thing, removal of the owner is nigh on impossible.

Overnight, yes. Long term, can't hurt to try. Many a club has succeeded in the past through fan action when in it for the long haul.

Based on our track record of doing that, where do you think the problem lays though? Mick is a prime example of the fact you can't polish a turd.

I've said time and time again that I think we suffer from a complete lack of infrastructure. And that needs addressing. But Lambert has the tools to be doing a much better job than he is doing. We cited Mick as a success for out performing the clubs wage budget, but the same measure Lambert is failing badly.

Which fans have actually forced owners out though? It very rarely, if ever, happens. Blackpool may be an exception, but he was a convicted rapist, who had totally rinsed the club and left it in League 2 before he went

I think everyone understands the issues. The problem is, we don't have the ability to provide a solution to the Evans issue. You haven't stumbled across a new issue.

Accepting it and actually thinking about doing something would be good though. Evans hides behind managers and we eat it up.

I'd argue clubs that have succeeded in taking back ownership via fans and community trusts fit the bill.

Who's going to plug the £6m gap? I'm not being an arse, I'm genuinely keen to see how this could all be done. [Post edited 17 Feb 2021 13:08]

Have they taken back control directly from owners that have been forced out, or just had to pick up the pieces when bad owners have got bored of running them into the ground and left though?

Lambert is a problem but Evans is THE problem. on 13:08 - Feb 17 with 1042 views | Harry_Palmer | Agree that Evans is a big problem long term but in the here and now we have a simple problem that can be fixed. Lambert is complete dud of a Manager who has failed miserably at a big club with a big budget ( for the 3rd division ). There are at least 4 Managers currently out of work who have good recent records that are a significant upgrade on Lambert. It's an absolute no brainer to solve the obvious immediate problem first.

Our best hope is that he accidentally hires a manager who actually wants to transform the club from top to bottom and is prepared to demand things from Evans to do so. Our next best hope is that, as with McCarthy, he happens across someone who gets the best he can out of the first team budget. Other than that, it's all dead ends.

A new owner? Evans can cut his ties and chalk it up as a loss tomorrow if he chose to. Like most smart people do with poor business investments and choices. Money is all relative to what one is worth. If you splashed out a few £k on a business and it wasn't succeeding, it would be your choice to invest more to keep flogging a dead horse or decide to invest your money elsewhere. Just because a few £m sounds like a lot to us on the forum it's pocket money if you're THAT loaded.

Portsmouth fought tooth and nail to achieve it. There were fans within legal and financial industries, many of which with high hourly rates, who gave up their time for free to do it.

I have no doubt that Evans has actively touted us for sale over the past few years, but there just aren't' many people looking to take on a football club in the 3rd tier, especially now we are going through a pandemic.

That's why I think Danny Cowley is the man for the job. That or an internal guy like Dyer who doesn't fear the academy and it's management
