Ireland has stopped using the AZ vaccine. 16:47 - Mar 14 with 1211 viewshomer_123

A precautionary measure apparently.

A few weeks ago weeks ago, the EU were trying to stop AZ vaccinations leaving the bloc, now they seem intent on not using it anywhere within it.

Shall we have a sweepstake on the date the Irish government express frustration that vaccine take up levels are not as high as they had hoped!?

They’d barely started!

Vaccine roll out has been very slow over here unfortunately

Yes...was aware rollout has been slow. This won't help.

Obviously, as per thread earlier today, this needs to be investigated but numbers still baseline in terms of those potentially affected so this does seem OTT.

As above....rollout slow already in Ireland.

No it hasn’t.

Roll out has been as fast as supply. Supply has been the issue.

AZ have persistently failed to meet their commitments. To counter their failure to supply 45,000 in their latest batch, we’re getting an extra 45,000 or so from Pfizer.

The U.K. are well ahead of the pack in terms of roll out but we’re faring quite well compared to other EU countries.

Their frustration is with AZ for their persistent failure to meet their commitments.

We’re rolling out what we get. Supply is the issue.

If our football team were mid table it would be an upgrade!

There will be those who’ll tell you our manager is unlucky with all the injuries. Simple truth is he’s an idiot. If Lambert is Ben Nevis on an idiot scale, Kenny is K2. Serbia will stuff us. Luxembourg will do us two.

U.K. have done great on the vaccine front. Not sure how long is left on his present term but BJ would probably wipe the floor again if he was minded to have an election in September.
