They’ve had quite a few key decisions go their way during this 6 Nations. I really feel the French are building a side to challenge at the next World Cup, they should’ve beaten England last weekend.

Credit to them, the Welsh are pretty wise and effective campaigners. But yes, think France and Ireland, probably Scotland and England too are all better teams than them. Pretty much the whole 6 Nations went their way – except the last 10 minutes.

A real shame for them there No offence to the Welsh fans but victorious Welsh Rugby fans are some of the most irritating sports fans known to man, topped only by Indian Cricket fans I would suggest Somebody change my mind!

The ref in the welsh rugby match is doing on 10:16 - Mar 21 with 985 views | Radlett_blue | While rugby is far more stop-start by nature, it took the VAR 5 minutes of deliberation to turn what seemed a legitimate French try into a penalty to Wales & a French red card. While the ultimate decision may have been correct under rugby's near impenetrable laws, that sort of delay is unacceptable in what is supposed to be live sport. Bad enough it you're sitting on the sofa with a beer, but what about if you're inside the ground? (Yes, I know there weren't any spectators). Rugby seems to have almost every try picked over by the VAR, which ruins the spontaneity of the experience.

In football the process could be improved dramatically. Firstly you have to decide if you want to use the technology or not and if not players, staff and pundits have to accept the decisions the refs make and stop whining over them If you want VAR the final decision has to stay with the on field ref and he/she needs to refer to a screen to check/confirm any decisions which either they refer to the VAR team to the VAR team highlight to them At times in Rugby it takes far to long and they dont always get it right but by and large the decisions are accepted by players and fans (when there) alike

That was extreme. But the neck roll/eye gouge was something the TMO spotted even before the try. Agree on the time it took. People wanted to see whether a try had been scored and went through all that process but in actual fact the foul play should have been looked at first. Thankfully, having two major incidents to unravel during the same passage of play is quite rare.

Far & away the biggest issue in football is the marginal off-sides and there is little way around this once you decide VAR is going to be used to judge these decisions. Even if you bring in an "umpire's call" decision if a player is in line, you will then have some hair-splitting decisions about what constitutes being "in line". You also can't have "umpire's call" if assistants remain instructed not to raise their flags.

Could you not have a simple - offside is only offside if judged offside to the naked eye. In other words, if you need to start drawing lines then it's judged to be level = onside.
