I think we shouldve cashed in on andre dozzell a year ago, hes not impressed at all this season, such high expectations, at one point theres was even debates on who was the better player andre or his dad jason!.. theres just no comparison, you wouldnt have seen jason pulling up his socks as a player is running past him with the ball, or straightening his hair in our 6 yard box as a corner is about to come in!.. whats going on!.. weve missed the big money for andre so its either keep him or he will end up going on a free when out of contract as i really cant see any premier league teams being interested and very few championship teams. Id love to see andre prove me wrong, such great potential but just not doing it for me. |  | | |  |

A year ago when he had barely played and there would have been zero interest at all?
I understand why some people aren't impressed by Dozzell, but I would think he is worth more now than last summer.
I suspect his value was highest the summer before he got crocked, when there was talk of Liverpool being interested. |  |

Think you need to remember that however much we might have got for him, it would certainly not have been handed over to PL for investment in new player/s! (based on ME's history re player sales/reinvestment in squad).
I'm happy that we still have him & he has a chance to show his real talent with Paul Cook to coach & guide him now. |  |

The trouble with hindsight is that it can’t be used at the time.
The real footballing crime is that he, and a fair few of the other lads, have been at the club for years but their best position (and how to play them) wasn’t ascertained when they joined the first team. |  | | |

It's funny, every time "they're going to sell AD!" came up everyone had a big flap about it, even though no one was ever going to offer us serious money for a player giving indifferent performances in League 1. "They're selling the future of the club before he even plays for us!"
Now he is playing regularly for us the same people lay into him every week because they don't actually have the patience to wait for our young players to develop. |  |

What is the added defensive part of his game? wasn't he a DM for England and our u18s?
