Booking was for 3.30 - notification stated to not arrive more than 5 mins before timed booking. 3.25 arrived, had to go past the turning, do a u-turn and join queue behind 4 other cars on West End Rd 3.38 - actually make it into SAR Way 3.50 - on the cusp of entering Portmans Walk - with one car still ahead on SAR Way 3.52 - 4 cars ahead outside the gate 3.55 - mounting excitement now 2nd in line 3.58 - ushered in and directed to space 4.07 - with my usual efficiency, deposited my final item to offload and left within the allowed 10 minutes.
Summary: not the same level of efficiency as Felixstowe, queuing times extended way beyond what would be expected given the booking system was supposed to remove. Each area well marked and allowed for simple disposal with little trouble. Social distancing well observed, with exception of one bloke coming up whilst I was depositing, with a “sorry mate, I was already committed”... 6.5 out of 10.
Foxhall tip is as close to you and I haven't had to queue at all under the booking system ...
Good point, well made, and had I simply been travelling from home, that would've been my preference. However, I was also collecting some bits that had been stored out of the way in my office in town en route that I needed to take as well, which then made Portmans Walk the nearer of the two.
