Derek Chauvin sentenced to 22.5 years on 21:22 - Jun 25 by J2BLUE
Stunned at the sentence. Maybe it's my lack of legal knowledge but thought he would get way longer.
I was actually concerned he might get away with it.
I made the mistake of looking at the comments under the story on MSN earlier (yes I know!) and some of them were as disgusting as I should have expected.

One of his connections (I don't know her name) said in a radio interview that she was hoping for 30 years, but would accept 25. She was also worried it'd be lighter.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
Should be a watershed moment and hopefully part of a repositioning away from the levels of police autonomy in the US (particularly in certain states)
I’ve not followed the trial and don’t know much of the finer details but I am led to believe that the use of the wording “breaking public trust” by the judge during sentencing is not a common one in the US
