Thought it was sold out for away fans today? 20:49 - Aug 14 with 1161 viewsITFC_Forever

Did a number of people with seat tickets decide not to bother going? The seated area only looked two-thirds full.

I was looking for gaps myself but didn’t see many on the screen.

Think they make that area bigger than actual tickets sold for some reason.

They were on the terraces, far too many squashed in, but can’t blame them.

I think the empty seats were likely player comps - they were in one block, where I'd expect them to be.

They were spread across all the seating section.

2 empty rows in front of me, D & E I think... There may have been some gaps due to away match season ticket holders being on holiday and not thinking to get a refund (you can send up to 3 tickets back each season)

Seemed strange the empty seats were all on the same rows, not randomly dotted about.

Doubt that was the case. A couple of lads tried to use their seat tickets to get onto the terrace ahead of me today but were sent round the corner to the seating area. Any congestion was by choice. I was at the left hand end and there was plenty of space.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

By choice?!

We didn’t sell the tickets.

Loads from seats stood around me, said that’s all they could get online, but obviously wanted to stand so just joined us.

What I meant was: if you wanted to find space on the terrace, it was available. People understandably congregated towards the middle - by choice.

Ahhh, got ya.

Why anyone chooses seats on the side over a terrace behind the goal is beyond me.

Unless you’re elderly obviously.

I agree.
I remember a copper at QPR years ago couldn’t believe that Town fans were paying to get onto the terrace behind the goal when there was a bloke there trying to give a couple of visitor seat tickets away for the corner.
Pay to stand, sit for free. No contest.
