We had another injured pigeon in our garden the other day 17:34 - Aug 17 with 912 views | The_Romford_Blue | And I managed to bring myself not to interfere by trying to save it. Growth. It had gone by the next day though which was sad as I’m sure it was probably taken by a fox or something to be executed.

We had another injured pigeon in our garden the other day on 17:54 - Aug 17 with 833 views | Ryorry | I see your two pigeons and raise you by two baby hedgehogs (tho I think "they" might have been the same one on two successive days). Found jammed against fence into next door's garden which it couldn't get into, but only 20m from 'hedgehog highway' hole under my gate. Same place, around lunchtime both days. Both times I picked up hoglet/s with gardening gloves & placed next to hedgehog home I'd made through gate & 75m away, where there's also water & a feeding station. Both times the hoglet scuttled away into its house, didn't seem injured. Was the size of a large apple, weighed no more than about 200g I'd say. Advice from local rescue centre was to put out food (hog specific cans of meat advised; they find it hard to eat kibble at that age unless it's first soaked in water), watch & see. Mums tend to boot out hoglets to fend for themselves at around 4-6 weeks, which this one appears to be. Their eyesight is so poor that they can mistake overcast days like today, for night-time. A healthy adult wouldn't normally be out in daytime unless they're a pregnant female nest-building & eating extra in readiness; or sometimes in midsummer simply because nights are so short.

I knew you’d pick up on that haha For those wondering what I’m talking about it, it’s been over three years since my pigeon escapade! https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/430216/page:1

Used to happen loads at my old flat as we had large windows with a single pane of glass. Probably should have put a sticker on there or something.

With something like "Watch out... glass!" on it, but then I guess the problem would be what if they can't read?

Use pictures. A picture of a clear pane of glass should do the trick...

We had another injured pigeon in our garden the other day on 18:40 - Aug 17 with 708 views | giant_stow | I saw what looked like a drunken rat on my way back from the pub on Saturday. I found something heavy to finish it, but my pub comrades thought that would be inhumane, so talked me out of it. I still think they were wrong - I can only hope a fox got it. At least I didn't come back with blood all over my trousers, but it didn't sit well despite that upside.

With the benefit of hindsight, I’m not entirely sure what I was thinking.
