Very few of our current U23 will transition to the first team, most will leave. That is normal.
In recent seasons, El Miz has stepped up, Dobs out on loan but has hardly setting the world alight. Looks like Humphreys could step up, Baggott, Armin and Chirewa getting good reports.
If Oppong is trialling elsewhere (and Dartford did not take him on loan earlier this season), then suspect he is looking for a new club. |  | | |

I can only assume that if he is trialling with other clubs and his contract is about to run out, then we are not offering him a new contract.
If a senior first team squad is 24 players and they range in age from 18-30 years old, then that is two players per age group (on average). If you get two players per season out of the U18 into first team squad, you are doing very well (or have no money to sign better players)..
Different sport, cricket. Xrs junior trialled for Surrey. At trial was told that success for the Development programme was getting one player a year through age group and academy to a pro deal. They had a bumper year a while back with Curran, Pope, Viradi and another making it to pro from that age group. For Xrs junior, none of his age group got a pro deal. Surrey instead signed a WI youth international.

They really aren't. Much as Cook very nearly took us that low, they are not as good as us. They will be pleased to be in this division next season. We will be disappointed to be. We will finish above them. | |

Thanks for reminding me with that kick in the wotsits, however true.
The Charlie Brown story is interesting in that he was a young player who looked to have a real future. I’ve no idea why he left MKD for Cheltenham after a season, but it doesn’t look good for him. Maybe he will develop and go on to a good career. Regardless, I’ve no doubt Chelsea looked after him and his family financially. |  | | |
