While I am no expert on geography & weather, I would be amazed if the eruption of an underwater volcano off Tonga, which is in the South Pacific, could have a large impact on seas around Madeira, 17,500 km away. It's been a bit rough in Tenerife the last few days, but I think that's local & nothing to do with Tonga.
